Today, we pray for random acts of love

Lord Jesus, we pass people every day who need a demonstration of Your love – friends, family, strangers. May we search for ways to show extravagant gestures of gracious love, and outlandish acts of kindness. Make us people who set a goal of doing daily deeds for which we cannot be repaid but in heaven. Set our hearts on fire for people who do not know You. Precious Savior, consume us with compassion for the desperate and downtrodden. Let us pour our lives out in Your kind of love – for our own first and to the rest of the...

Today, we pray for the grieving

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all Your children who are in the throes of grief. We pray for homes, individuals, communities struck by death, illness, crisis, catastrophes and failures. May Your Spirit pour balm over our souls. We need strength to recover from the shock, the intense pain and the lethargy. Only Your Holy Spirit can minister to us now. We pray that You send Your angels to stand guard over us and our own, as we totter through this valley of agony. My we know today that You never let us go, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Today, we pray for our children’s faith

Lord Jesus, we pray today for little children who are struggling to understand You and Your working in our tough, unfair world. May they turn to You, today. We pray that our children are touched by Your Holy Spirit, so that they understand how to obey and honour You, even when life gives them tough knocks. Be with them every moment and send Your angels to aid them when they are in emotional, physical or spiritual danger. May they become real children of light. We give You complete control of our childrens’ lives right now, Lord Jesus. Claim them for...

Today, we pray for those disappointed with God

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You our disappointments with God, the Church and Christians. The many tears, the countless unanswered prayers, the rejection, the insults, the endless waiting for a miracle from heaven – we surrender them all to You, Lord; not with anger, but with true submission and humility. We identify ourselves with Your apostles and Mother Mary, who waited and mourned before that glorious resurrection Sunday. Lord Jesus, turn our worst disappointments into Your biggest miracles. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning – we receive that promise, in Jesus’ most precious...

Today, we pray over dead relationships

Lord Jesus, human relationships form the soul of Your church on earth. We pray today that Your Holy Spirit will come into our hearts and help us build, not break – homes, churches, organisations, friendships and bonds within the family. Let us not sin by letting the devil destroy relationships with each other. Open our eyes that we may see – that loving our brethren comes right after loving You. Let Your healing love flow into every relationship in our lives. Amen.
