Today, we pray for those facing death

Lord Jesus, we surrender to You each man, woman and child, who is facing death today. We pray that Your Spirit strengthens and calms them, when they enter the valley of death. May each one of them receive the grace to know Your presence, the comfort of Your angels and have a peaceful death. Give Your grace to those who are holding them and grieving, when they cross the barrier. May none of our dear ones die violent or untimely deaths and may we never have to face death in fear or in loneliness, without someone holding our hands. Amen.

Today, we pray for those walking wounded

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the wounded, from all over the world, especially the ones who trudge into our retreat centre, for a revival of their lives. We pray for healing that is complete – spiritual, physical and emotional. We pray that Your love seeps through their spirits, souls and bodies, removing every hurt inflicted by people. May they walk into Your arms and walk boldly along hereafter, holding Your hand forever. Amen

Today, we pray for those being tested

Lord Jesus, our Saviour, we need You now as we are struggling in the crucible of suffering. Lord, touch and bless each one of us who are being tested by death, people, loss, illness, family problems, bondages, calamities, crisis situations, financial crunch, stress or fear. We wash all these away by the power of Your precious blood. May Your love and Your Word bring us healing and peace, plus assurance, right now and forever. Amen

Today, we pray for alcoholics

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those who are addicted to alcohol. Jesus, only You can heal these men and women who are caught in the web of intoxication. We pray that our youth especially, are protected from falling into this temptation. A special prayer for the spouses, parents and children of alcoholics. May our homes and organisations be places where individuals can celebrate without drinking. Heal the addicts. Amen.

Today, we pray for all the families

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all the families in the world. Lord, the evil one is destroying families and close relationships. We pray that every family is protected and that strife is routed in Your mighty name. May members of families learn the importance of praying – together and for each other. And through the power of that prayer, may we always live in physical and emotional togetherness and love. Amen.
