He is calling us to join Him: not in a superficial way, but to love Him with all our hearts (Mt 22:37), in a Christian community of the others whom He has called, and in waking up and renewing a sleeping Church (see 1 Sm 3:2-3). Lord Jesus, today we pray that You preserve Your men and women in military service. We pray for truth, justice and human rights in the battle field. May our spouses, parents, brothers, sisters and friends who are risking their lives for our motherland, be blessed in a special way today. We pray for their spiritual walk, good health and longevity. May Your love sustain and encourage them through dark, anxious and lonely hours. We pray for the strengthening of their families and loved ones facing daily challenges, while awaiting their return. A special prayers for the souls of war veterans...

கடவுளின் இறைமக்களே! பிரியமானவர்களே!! நம்முடைய பக்தி ஆதாயம் தருவதுதான். அது யாருக்கென்றால் மனநிறைவுள்ளவர்களுக்கே தரும். உலகத்தில் நாம் எதையும் கொண்டுவந்ததில்லை. உலகத்தை விட்டு எதையும் கொண்டு போகவும் முடியாது. இதை யாவரும் அறிந்ததே. உண்ண உணவும், உடுக்க உடையும் இருந்தால் அவற்றில் மனநிறைவு கொள்வோம். அதிகமான செல்வம் சேர்ப்பதற்காய் பலர் பக்தியை விட்டு பின்வாங்கி தகாத காரியங்களில் ஈடுபடுவதை காண்கிறோம்.கடவுளின் பிள்ளைகளாகிய நாம் பொருள் ஆசையை விட்டு விடுவோம். ஏனெனில் பொருள் ஆசையே எல்லா தீமைகளுக்கும் காரணமாகவும், ஆணிவேராகவும் இருக்கிறது. இதைத்தான் நாம் 1 திமொத்தேயு 6: 6,7,10 ஆகிய வசனங்களில் வாசிக்கிறோம். அன்பார்ந்தவர்களே நாம் வீணான ஆசையில் இருந்து தப்பி நீதி, இறைப்பற்று, நம்பிக்கை, மனஉறுதி, பணிவு ஆகியவற்றை நாடித்தேடுவோம். விசுவாச வாழ்க்கையில் ஏற்படும் போராட்டங்களை எதிர்க்கொண்டு கடவுளின் பேரில் இன்னும் அதிகமான நம்பிக்கைவைத்து நிலையான வாழ்வை பற்றிக்கொள்வோம். அதற்காகவே கடவுள் நம்மை அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறார். இனி வாழ்வது நாம் அல்ல, கிறிஸ்துவே நம்மில் வாழட்டும். அவர்மீது கொண்டுள்ள நம்பிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் வாழுவோம்....

“So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and favor and to find help in time of need.” –Hebrews 4:16 We see others and ourselves beset with problems, which don’t get better but get worse. Then we wonder whether God cares. We pray, and our prayers are not answered as we hoped. In fact, things often get worse after we pray. If God is blessing us, it seems impossible to recognize this. We see people falling on the ice, suffering in pain, shivering in the cold, treated unjustly, and consumed with fear. Then we wonder again...

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You each man, woman and child seeking to find You through a retreat. We pray that those who desperately wish to attend a retreat can do so soon. Remove the hindrances, anxieties, people and negative circumstances that are blocking their plans. We surrender each person and their desire to know You fully – at the foot of the cross. May their cries reach Your ears today and may they get the total and lasting deliverance only Your Holy Spirit can give. Amen.
