“I have seen the Lord!” —John 20:18 At a college “Encounter with Christ” retreat many years ago, I had a “Mary Magdalene” moment. The retreat director asked everyone to find a quiet location and spend an hour reading letters written to us by fellow students. I walked through the snow-covered woods to a secluded hilltop overlooking a frozen lake and sat atop a tree stump to read and pray. Each letter radiated encouragement, hopes, and prayers. The final letter ended with a Bible verse: “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a bushel basket” (see Lk 8:16)....

(லூக்கா 24 : 13-35) கத்தோலிக்கத் தாய்த் திரு அவையின் புதையல் நற்கருணை. நற்கருணையைச் சுற்றியே தான் நம் இருத்தலும் இயங்குதலும் நடைபெறுகின்றன. இந்த நற்கருணையின் மறைபொருளை உணர இன்றைய நற்செய்தி நமக்கொரு எடுத்துக்காட்டாக இருக்கின்றது. நமது திருப்பலியின் அமைப்பு முறையும் இன்றைய நற்செய்தியினைப் பார்த்துதான் அமைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்றால் அது மிகையாகாது. முதல் பகுதி இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் திருப்பலியின் இறைவார்த்தைப் பகுதியினை ஒத்து அமைகின்றது. இரண்டாம் பகுதி திருப்பலியின் நற்கருணைப் பகுதியினை ஒத்து அமைகின்றது. நற்கருணைப் பகிர்விற்கான தயாரிப்பே இறைவார்த்தைப் பகிர்வு. இறைவார்த்தைப் பகுதியின் நோக்கமே நற்கருணையின் மறைப்பொருளை உணரச் செய்வதே. வார்த்தையானவர் மனுவுரு எடுத்ததே நம்மோடு தங்குவதற்குத்தானே! ஆனால் பல வேளைகளில் நம்மில் பலர் நற்கருணையில் இறைவனைக் காண முடியாதவர்கள்தான், இன்று இறைவார்த்தையில் இறைவனைக் கண்டுவிடலாம் என்று அங்குமிங்கும் அலைந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். பழைய ஏற்பாட்டிலிருந்து புதிய ஏற்பாட்டினை நோக்கி பயணம் செய்வதை விட்டுவிட்டு, பழைய ஏற்பாட்டிலேயே இன்னும் பல பிரிவினையன்பர்கள்...

“This is the Jesus God has raised up, and we are His witnesses.” —Acts 2:32 The risen Jesus was seen not by all but only by witnesses “hand-picked by God” (Acts 10:41, our transl). By our Baptisms, all Christians have been hand-picked by the Lord to be witnesses for the risen Christ. (மத்தேயு 28: 6-15) திகிலுற்றுக் கிடந்த அனைவருக்கும் இயேசுவின் உயிர்ப்பு மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுத்தது. முடங்கிக் கிடந்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் முடுக்கி விடப்பட்டனர். இயேசு உயிர்த்து விட்டார் என்ற செய்தியைப் பரப்ப ஒருபுறம் சமுதாயத்தால் மதிக்கப்படாத பெண்கள் ஓடுகின்றனர். மறுபுறம் அவர் உயிர்ப்பின் செய்தியை சோற்றுக்குள் மறைக்கப்பட்ட பூசணிக்காயைப் போன்று மறைத்துவிட அதிகார வர்க்கத்தினர் ஆட்களை அனுப்புகின்றார்கள். பலவீனமான பெண்கள் ஒருபுறம், படைக்கவசங்களுடன் பலம் வாய்ந்த படைவீரர்கள் மறுபுறம். உண்மையைக் கையில் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு அன்பினால் இயக்கப்படும் பெண்கள் ஒருபுறம். கையூட்டுக் காசினைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டு உண்மையினை மூடி மறைக்க எண்ணும் கூட்டம் மறுபுறம். அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை இருளை விரட்டியடிக்க சிறு தீக்குச்சியே போதுமென்று. உண்மை மலையின் மீது ஏற்றி வைக்கப்பட்ட விளக்கினைப் போன்றது. விளக்கினைத் தேடும் விண்மினிப் பூச்சிகள் ஒவ்வொன்றும் ஒளியினால் ஈர்க்கப்படும். தேடலின் விடை ஒளியில் மட்டுமே கிடைக்கும். உலகின் ஒளியை நாமும் வேட்கையோடு தேடினால் ஒளியை அடைந்து விடுவோம். திருத்தொண்டர்...

“Early in the morning on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been moved away.” —John 20:1 Jesus is risen from the dead! Alleluia! “This is the day the Lord has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it” (Ps 118:24). I am writing this teaching for Easter with an IV in my arm, as I await having a tube put down my throat. This may be followed by other tortures, which may lead to surgery. What kind of Easter celebration is this!?...
