Promise #182 – Wednesday July 1, 2015

Psalm 33:6 10:36 (WEB) By Yahweh’s word, the heavens were made; all their army by the breath of his mouth. Promise #181: I made the heavens by My Word and I breathed the stars into existence. Our God and Father is so big that He created the heavens just by a word! He is so powerful that just a breath from His mouth caused all of the stars to come into being. When you think of this promise, take time to reflect on the bigness of our God! So many times in the busyness of life, we get caught up...

Today, we pray for world peace

Lord Jesus, God of love, we pray that Your peace comes into our world. Our world is torn by broken individuals, distant factions and fighting countries. We pray that Your touch heals each one of them. May the love that Your Holy Spirit gives cleanse individuals, faiths, groups. God bless us all. Amen. Collect: O God, who consecrated that abundant first fruits of the Roman Church by the blood of the Martyrs, grant, we pray, that with firm courage we may together draw strength from so great a struggle and ever rejoice at the triumph of faithful love. Today, we pray for widows and widowers

Lord Jesus, on this day we specially lift unto You all who have lost their married partners, across the world. Lord, the loss of one’s beloved is one of the most painful experiences of life. We ask You to look kindly on all widows and widowers. As they struggle through loneliness, keep them in the embrace of Your mercy. Keep them always protected and never let their emotions be abused. For those who are still not able to overcome the shock of having lost their beloved, we pray that Your hands of healing might be upon their torn hearts. Amen.

Today, we pray for missionaries

Lord Jesus, we pray for missionaries all over the world. Lord, we consecrate each one of them and their families and friends to Your Sacred Heart. We pray in particular for those stuck in faraway lands, surrounded by hostile forces. When troubles and turmoils come, be their strength. Give all of Your missionary servants the humility, simplicity, grace, honesty, dedication and most importantly, Your kind of love – that live up to their calling. Amen.

Today, we pray for those labelled bad

Lord Jesus, You are all about love, mercy and justice. When the world brands a person as a black sheep, please hold his or her hand. The moment when one of us is labelled something evil, may Your angels rush to our aid. To lift us up and to give us grace and courage. May we able to bear the insults better, knowing that the world did the same to You years ago. May we not judge, lest we be judged ourselves. Heal us, Lord. Amen. Collect: O God, who made the Bishop Saint Cyril of Alexandria an invincible champion...
