பேறுபெற்றோர் என்று சொல்லப்படுவது ஒரு சிறப்பு அந்தஸ்தைக் குறிக்கக்கூடிய சொல்லாக நடைமுறையில் இருக்கிறது. முக்கியமான ஒருவரின் அன்பையும், பாசத்தையும் பெற்றவர்களை பேறுபெற்றவர்கள் என்று சொல்கிறோம். திருச்சபையில் கடவுளின் அன்பையும், அருளையும் பெற்று, சிறப்பு பெற்றவர்களை பேறுபெற்றவர்கள் என்று போற்றுகின்றோம். அப்படி கடவுளின் அன்பையும், இரக்கத்தையும் பெற நாம் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும்? கிறிஸ்துவை தயக்கமின்றி ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். தொடக்கக்காலத்தில் கிறிஸ்துவை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதால் பலர் தங்களது உயிரை இழந்தனர். கொடுமையான சித்ரவதைகளுக்கு ஆளாகினர். இப்படிப்பட்ட பிண்ணனியில் கிறிஸ்துவை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதா? வேண்டாமா? என்று பலர் தயக்கம் காட்டினா். தங்களது உயிரை இழந்து கிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றிக்கொள்வதனால் தங்களுக்கு கிடைக்கும் ஆதாயம் என்ன என்று கேட்கத்தொடங்கினார்கள். இதுதான் கிறிஸ்துவையும், கிறிஸ்தவத்தையும் அழிக்க நினைத்தவர்கள் எதிர்பார்த்தது. இப்படிப்பட்ட சூழ்நிலையில் நற்செய்தியாளரின் இந்த வார்த்தைகள், அவர்களுக்கு ஊக்கத்தைத் தந்திருக்க வேண்டும். கிறிஸ்துவை தயக்கமின்றி ஏற்றுக்கொண்டால், கடவுளின் அன்பும் இரக்கமும் அவர்களுக்கு கிடைக்கும் என்கிற அந்த எண்ணம் தான், அவர்களை மீண்டும்...

“I will leave as a remnant in your midst a people humble and lowly, who shall take refuge in the name of the Lord.” –Zephaniah 3:12 Today’s readings spotlight the word “refuge.” God’s lowly people shall humbly take refuge in the name of the Lord (Zep 3:12). “No one incurs guilt who takes refuge in” the Lord; He “redeems the lives of His servants” (Ps 34:23). மருத்துவரை யார் தேடுவார்கள்? எப்போது தேடுவார்கள்? நோய்வாய்ப்பட்டிருக்கிற அல்லது தான் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறோமோ என்று நினைக்கிற ஒருவர் தான் மருத்துவரை நாடுவார். அதுவரை யாரும் மருத்துவரை நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதில்லை. தேவை எழுகிறபோது மருத்துவரின் உதவியை ஒருவா் நாடுகிறார். தன்னை நோயாளி என்று கருதாத, நினைக்காத, நம்பாத யாரும் மருத்துவரை தேடுவது கிடையாது. இதுதான் பரிசேயர்கள், மறைநூல் அறிஞர்களின் வாழ்க்கையிலும் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தது. அவர்கள் தங்களை தூய்மையானவர்களாக, புனிதமானவர்களாக கருதிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். கடவுளின் இரக்கம் தங்களுக்கு தேவையில்லை என்ற எண்ணம் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அப்படிப்பட்ட எண்ணம் கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு இந்த உவமையை இயேசு சொல்கிறார். இரண்டு மகன்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். இரண்டு பேரும் வேறுபாடான எண்ணங்களைக் கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்கள். இன்றைக்கு இந்த சமுதாயத்திலும் ஒவ்வொருவரும் வேறுபாடான கோணத்தில் சிந்திக்கிறவர்களாகத்தான் இருக்கிறார்கள். அது நேர்மறையாக சிந்திக்கப்பட்டால் வளர்ச்சியை நோக்கியதாக இருக்கும். எதிர்மறையாகச் சிந்தித்தால் அழிவை நோக்கியதாக இருக்கும். இந்த இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளிடத்திலும் தந்தை ஒரே கோரிக்கையைத்தான் வைக்கிறார். பதில் முரண்பட்ட பதிலாக அவருக்கு...
