இயேசு பல புதுமைகள் செய்து மக்களின் பிணிகளைப் போக்கினார்; அவர்களுக்கு நலம் கொணர்ந்தார். அதே பணியைத் தொடர்ந்து ஆற்றும் பொறுப்பையும் அதற்கான வல்லமையையும் அவர் தம் சீடர்களுக்கு அளித்தார் (காண்க: லூக் 9:1-6). வலிப்பு நோய்க்கு ஆளான ஒரு சிறுவனை இயேசுவின் சீடர்களால் குணப்படுத்த இயலவில்லை. ஆனால் இயேசு அச்சிறுவனின் பிணியை நீக்கி அவனுடைய தந்தையிடம் அவனை ஒப்படைத்தார் (லூக் 9:37-42). இந்த அதிசயம் மக்களின் கண்முன்னால் நிகழ்ந்ததும் ”அவர்கள் எல்லாரும் கடவுளின் மாண்பைக் கண்டு மலைத்துநின்றார்கள்” என லூக்கா குறிப்பிடுகிறார் (லூக் 9:43அ). இயேசு புரிந்த அதிசய செயல்கள் மக்களிடையேயும் சீடர்களிடையேயும் பெரும் வியப்பை ஏற்படுத்தின (லூக் 9:43ஆ). மலைப்பும் வியப்பும் எல்லாரையும் ஆட்கொண்டதைக் குறிப்பிட்ட உடனேயே, இயேசு தாம் துன்புறப்போவதாக இன்னுமொரு முறை முன்னறிவித்தது பற்றி லூக்கா பேசுகிறார். தீய சக்திகளை அடக்குகின்ற அதிகாரம் இயேசுவுக்கு இருக்கிறது; மக்களின் பிணி போக்குகின்ற வல்லமையும் அவரிடம் உண்டு. ஆனால் இத்தகு...
