Today, we pray for our relatives

Lord Jesus, we surrender to You today members of our extended family. We pray that illnesses and strife within our homes are healed, relationships washed in Your Precious Blood and mended. May we learn to love them as our own, as You decided they should be our own. May every negative thought and sickness be surrendered at the foot of Your cross today. Bless our dear ones to come closer to You and to each other. May we always bless and never curse each other. Let Your love flow into and through our family tree daily. Amen.

Today, we pray for greater honour to be given to Your Holy Name

Lord Jesus, today we consecrate ourselves and our own – to Your Sacred Heart and claim the protection of Your Precious Blood and Your Holy Name. May Your Holy Name always be given the honour it is due and more. We ask Your forgiveness for the times we have spoken Your Name in vain. Let heaven and earth acknowledge its awesome power and protection at all times. When we utter it, let it be with deep love and veneration. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we bring to Your Cross those who are judged the harshest by each one of us – the Pharisees of today. The tattooed stranger, the friend/relative who has fallen out of favour, the sulky colleague, the temperamental boss, the whining elder, the insensitive partner, the cutting friend, the alcoholic, the gossipy neighbour and many more faces we meet daily…may we see them all as You see them, holy and perfect creations in an imperfect world. Today, we pray for our fathers

Lord Jesus, we pray that You bless all the fathers and father figures in this world. Guide them to become good role models and the epitomes of love, hard work, integrity, dedication and honesty to their families. Let them truly know that the greatest they can do for their own children is to love their mothers. Help them to be a father like You are. Give them Your grace and patience to handle life Your loving way. Amen.

Today, we pray for our teachers

Lord Jesus, today we surrender to You our teachers. As many students write their exams these weeks, we acknowledge the sacrifice and efforts of hours of dedication that thousands of teacher put in. Thank You Lord, for those who taught us everything – from discipline to sharing, from knowledge to integrity. We pray that each one of them is touched by You and cared for, in a special way. May good Christian men and women take up this commitment to become teachers. Bless their students to know You and about You, first and last. Bless their families too. Amen.
