Today, we pray for those who cut us through their words

Lord Jesus, there is no one who uses the power of words to heal as much as You do. We pray for Christians who inflict deep wounds with their tongue, without a care for others. We pray that the ones who are at the receiving end can heal, forgive and forget too, by Your grace. May we become the kind of people who are gentle and loving in our speech, quick to make amends, without giving the devil a foothold. Let the anger, unforgiveness and hardness melt away when we are touched by You daily. Heal our tongues. Amen.

Today, we pray for our children’s faith

Lord Jesus, we pray today for little children who are struggling to understand You and Your working in our tough, unfair world. We pray that our children are touched by Your Holy Spirit, so that they understand how to obey and honour You, even when life gives them tough knocks. Be with them every moment and send Your angels to aid them when they are in emotional, physical or spiritual danger. May they become real children of light. We give You complete control of our childrens’ lives right now, Lord Jesus. Claim them for Your own, forever and ever. Amen.

Today we pray for those who have left the church

Lord Jesus, You created the beautiful Catholic and apostolic church to help us worship You unceasingly and with passion, holding fast to our traditions. We ask Your forgiveness for the divisions we have caused to Your body. A special prayer for the ones who have caused the rifts – the dead and the alive. Some of us have already left the fold and many others are dangling. Bring them back Jesus – only You can do that. Help us all come back, in unity and with fervour to our real home church, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Today, we pray for expecting parents

Lord Jesus, today we bring to Your presence – our pregnant wives, sisters, mothers and friends – and their spouses. We pray that each of these men and women are mightily anointed to become Godly Christian parents. We pray that the fathers, the mothers’ wombs and their babies are blessed. May the men who are to provide care and love, do so, with Your special touch. May Your angels, Saint Anne and Mother Mary give the mothers-to-be relief from their discomforts. Bless the women with safe and happy confinement and smooth labour and the men with hands and hearts willing...

Today, we pray for the strangers in our life

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those are strangers to us – the people who we bump into during our daily walk. The men, women and children we do not know, but who are all opportunities You provide – for us to share Your love. A special prayers for dear ones who have now become like strangers to us – estranged from us and our families. May each person we meet see Christ in us. May Your Holy Spirit radiate and touch the lives of everyone we meet. Touch and heal all who live aloof from the world, Lord...
