My Creator
A father and mother of a little girl bought their first house. One day the family hopped into the car and drove to see where they soon would be living.
The little girl couldn’t believe it because the house had no windows or doors, and there was a strange odor. The basement was clearly visible through big gaps in the floor and they had to climb a ladder to get down there.
That night the little girl asked her mother why they wanted to live in a house like that. The mother explained that the building has not finished yet and the house would look more beautiful than she imagined once it gets completed.
Days passed by and the little girl saw changes happening in the house. The house got windows, then doors. The ‘funny smell’ of new lumber faded. The holes in the floor were covered and a staircase was added. Walls were painted, curtains and pictures were hanged. Now the house was complete and looked more beautiful than the little girl’s imagination.
So let us not worry about what we are today. Remember that we are the clay in the hands of the Lord. Be patient. God has not completed us yet. Although the groundwork is laid, the growing process continues as we obediently follow Jesus “The author and finisher of our faith” (Heb 12:2). One day we too will be complete.
“……..I saw the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over.…….“O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand….. I will not destroy it as I had planned………I will plant and build up…….”Jeremiah 18
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time”. 1 Peter 5:6
God sees us in us a masterpiece
That one day will be done;
His Spirit works throughout our lives
To make us like His Son.
