“I made myself the slave of all so as to win over as many as possible.” —1 Corinthians 9:19 How much do you want people to give their lives to Christ? Would you be “the slave of all so as to win over as many as possible”? Would you make yourself “all things to all men in order to save at least some of them”? (1 Cor 9:22) Are you running the race and fighting the fight? (1 Cor 9:26; 2 Tm 4:7) Would you discipline and master your body (1 Cor 9:27) to make it an instrument of justice...

“We know that God makes all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His decree.” —Romans 8:28 When Mary became pregnant through the Holy Spirit, it seemed that St. Joseph would divorce her, and that she would be in danger of being executed as an adulteress (see Mt 1:19). But God spoke to Joseph to receive Mary as his wife. Joseph obeyed God’s revelation, and God made “all things work together for the good” (Rm 8:28). However, on this occasion, Jesus not only healed the man, but had him come stand up in front of everyone before He healed him (Lk 6:8). Jesus began the overturning of an unjust mindset by a public act of love and healing. This healing was also a direct...

“Men should regard us as servants of Christ and administrators of the mysteries of God.” –1 Corinthians 4:1 Are you a trustworthy administrator of the mysteries of God? Do you believe: 1) Jesus died on the cross for us and gives us a new nature through Baptism into His death? (Rm 6:3) 2) We can live a new life by faith in Jesus? (2 Cor 5:17) 3) We can be filled with the Holy Spirit, God Himself? (Eph 5:18) 4) The Church is the Body of Christ? (Rm 12:5) 5) The Bible is the Word of God? (2 Tm 3:16)...
