Lord Jesus, You gave us the gift of parents. There are so many children who do not see their parents as a gift, but rather as a burden. Our parents have given their whole lives and made a lot of sacrifices for us, their children. But today they feel unwanted and left out. We offer their pain unto You. Have mercy on them. May these children one day realise their mistake and learn to love and care for their parents who completely deserve their love. Amen.

Lord Jesus, loneliness if the first thing that Your eyes seemed as not right. We pray for those among us who are living alone in this world – the singles, the married singles, the aged, the ostracised and the rejected. We pray that Your presence will surround us when we are at our loneliest point. We pray that You provide us with the right partners to be Your loving touch and voice. Bring angels into our lives when friends forget us, Lord. Amen

Lord Jesus, on this day we pray for animals, birds and other living creatures that You created to give us joy. We pray that these are protected and not abused. Forgive us Lord for the way we have hurt the living things around the world. A special prayer for our pets, who bring us happiness. May us human beings learn to respect and love life – any creature that You created. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we surrender to You those of us who are brokenhearted right now. May we not hate You because of what people have done to us. Grief, illness, loneliness, death, illtreatment, abuse, crisis, lack of spiritual nurturing – all these have left us broken and bruised. Trusted people have added the most to our wounds. Only You can heal and repair our crushed spirits now, Jesus. We pray that Your Spirit will touch us and make us whole again. Let our lives become testimonies of Your love, once again. Amen.

Lord Jesus, today we pray for those who live on this earth with no one to call their own. May Your love surround them and make them feel wanted, instead of rejected. Lord, bless the old and the young who long for a family. We pray that homes will be opened to young ones who are seeking adoptive parents. May all of us truly become one family – with members accountable to and for one another. Amen.
