Today, we pray for the misunderstood

Lord Jesus, we surrender to You those of us who are suffering today because of silly misunderstandings. We pray that Your love penetrates into our very souls and heals the wounds which run deep. May we believers learn to rebuke the devil and stay away from his tactics. May our relationships be blessed more and more. Break Satan’s web of lies and strife, especially between ministers, family and friends, Lord Jesus. May rifts be healed and let love surpass everything. Amen.

Today, we pray for widows, orphans and single parent families

Lord Jesus, today we pray for some of the ignored in our society – the widows, widowers, orphans and single parents. We pray that You will be the absent spouse, sibling, friend, mother and father for them all. Cover them with Your mantle of love when they are at their lowest. May Your Holy Spirit give them inner strength, courage and joy. May angels be at their service when they need them. Bless their families and friends too mightily, Lord. Forgive the ones who reject them and cause them suffering. Amen.

Today, we pray for writers

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the ones among us who use our writing skills to earn a living. We pray for fictional and non-fictional writers, bloggers, journalists, authors, researchers, editors and anyone who works with words. Lord, may we never use the pen to destroy, but to build up, Your Kingdom, Your creations. Bless our thinking and our hands. Bless also the ones who are being influenced by our writing. May no evil or filth ever seep through. Wash and cleanse every word we read or write, in Your Precious Blood, sweet Jesus. Amen.

Today, we pray for alcoholics

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those who are addicted to alcohol. Jesus, only You can heal these men and women who are caught in the web of intoxication. We pray that our youth especially, are protected from falling into this temptation. A special prayer for the spouses, parents and children of alcoholics. May our homes and organisations be places where individuals can celebrate without drinking. Heal all the alcoholics who we have ever known. Amen.

Today, we pray for the elderly

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the oldest members of our families and society. We pray that Your presence comforts them in their loneliness. Keep them focused on You, rather than on their aches and anxieties. We pray specially for those who are living alone. Watch over our parents and grandparents, O Jesus. May they have angels for their aid whenever they are alone. Help us serve them well all their lives. Amen.
