Today, we pray for the silent helpers of Your Ministry

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the silent supporters of Your ministry on earth. Lord, bless and honour those who clean the pews, decorate the halls for worship, do secretarial work, wash the toilets and do the odd job for Your glory behind the scenes – the sound technicians, the volunteer staff, the drivers, the babysitters and all those who faithfully support ministries with their time and money. A prayer for their families too. May their rewards come from You. And frequently remind each of us that each role comes from You, so respect all jobs, all brethren. Amen.

Today, we pray for the weary

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the weary ones – the ones tired of waiting for an answer to their prayers, a fulfilment of their greatest dreams and a breakthrough from the mundane. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will comfort and enrich their subconscious tonight and give them the lift they so badly need. Assure them that all is well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today, we pray for a passionate love for the Eucharist

Lord Jesus, You gave us Your self in the Eucharist. We pray that the human race is truly grateful for You. Have mercy and convict the ones who commit sins against the Eucharist. May each one of us receive You with an awe that You deserve and more. Teach us to truly adore and rejoice in this beautiful expression of Your love. Amen.

Today, we pray for those who are suicidal

Lord Jesus, on this day we bring to You our brothers and sisters who are being rammed by the cruellest attack against their souls – a tendency to end their lives. We pray that Your heavenly and earthly angels will support them when they are at their lowest. May they always find a friendly hand to hold, pray and bring them back. Break the strongholds of the evil of suicide. Deliver all those who are suicidal right now – once and forever – by the mighty power of Your Precious Blood, O Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today, we pray for alcoholics

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those addicted to alcohol. Jesus, only You can heal these men and women who are caught in the web of intoxication. We pray that our youth especially, are protected from falling into this temptation. May our homes and organisations be places where individuals can celebrate joys, without drinking. Heal the alcohol addicts by Your power. Amen.
