Today, we pray for widows, orphans and single parent families

Lord Jesus, today we pray for some of the ignored in our society – the widows, widowers, orphans and single parents. We pray that You will be the absent spouse, mother and father for them all. May Your love surround them when they are at their lowest. May Your Holy Spirit give them inner strength, courage and joy. May angels be at their service when they need them. Bless their families and friends too mightily, Lord. Forgive the ones who reject them and cause them suffering. Amen.

Today, we pray for travellers

Lord Jesus, we pray for those among us who are travelling. We pray that You will keep each one of us safe and protected by Your constant care when we move from one place to another. Give us travelling mercies. Keep our loved ones who are on the move by air, road or water, safe from death, disease or catastrophes. May Your angels surround us now and forever – right from the time we step out to make our journey and to the time when we are back. Amen.

Today, we pray for the strangers in our life

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those are strangers to us – the people who we bump into during our daily walk. The men, women and children we do not know, but who are all opportunities You provide – for us to share Your love. A special prayers for dear ones who have now become like strangers to us – estranged from us and our families. May each person we meet see Christ in us. May Your Holy Spirit radiate and touch the lives of everyone we meet. Touch and heal all who live aloof from the world, Lord...

Today, we pray for all the families

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all the families in the world. Lord, the evil one is destroying families and close relationships. We pray that families are protected and that strife is routed in Your mighty name. May the members of families learn the importance of praying – together and for each other. And through the power of that prayer, may we always live in physical and emotional togetherness and love. Amen.

Today, we pray for those who cut us through their words

Lord Jesus, there is no one who uses the power of words to heal as much as You do. We pray for Christians who inflict deep wounds with their tongue, without a care for others’ feelings. We pray that the ones who are at the receiving end can heal, forgive and forget too, by Your grace. May we become the kind of people who are gentle and loving in our speech. Let the anger, unforgiveness and hatred melt away when we are touched by You daily. Heal our tongues, lest we kill someone with it. Amen.
