Lord Jesus, we pray for those among us who have faced emotional, sexual or physical abuse. Children who have been tortured, women who have had their dignity stripped off and men who have been insulted. When our brethren suffer, Lord, surround them with Your angels. May Your love bring complete healing – the kind that only Your Holy Spirit can give us. Heal the tormentors too. Amen.
Lord Jesus, our Saviour, today we pray for those of our brethren who are longing to come back to You, to the church. Lord, only You know what is stopping them – their challenges, confusions and struggles. We pray that You send angels into their lives – Christian men and women who can bring them back. We pray that when they return, they return with fervour and a lifelong dedication, never to go away or astray again. Bless also the ones who are standing by and waiting, the family and friends praying ceaselessly for their return. Amen.
Lord Jesus, today we pray for those in entertainment, finance, media, art and other socially popular spheres. Lord, these are the people who pile up achievements – those faces we recognise and whose joy lie in their awards and accolades and in their wealth. Thank You for these people who make our lives more entertaining and relaxing. Now we say a prayer over them; we claim their souls for You and You alone. Send them help, to bring them back to You, Lord Jesus. We pray that these souls do not disconnect from You ever. Amen.
Lord Jesus, today we pray for love – Your kind of sincere, gentle, giving, honest, consistent and sacrificial love to fill our hearts and lives. Thank You for Your love that surpasses all human understanding; the love which is food and medicine to our souls. Now help us pass it on, especially to our inner circle and those outside who need it the most. Let love not be manipulated or abused. A prayer for those whom we find hardest to love today. Amen.
Lord Jesus, today we bring to your our sins that took You to the cross. The disloyalty, anger, greed, unforgiving nature, arrogance, our harsh behaviour, bitter words, greed, neglect of family and friends, unwillingness to help our brethren, alcoholism, lying, cheating, gossip, abortion, wrong relationships, adultery and sexual sins, addictive sins and everything else that You alone are fully aware of. Lord, only Your Holy Spirit can heal us and make us new creations. We humbly kneel at the foot of Your rugged cross this day and plead Your blood of forgiveness over ourselves and our own. Amen.
