Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the hypnotic attachment the world today has to television-watching. We pray especially for homes where even family prayer has been replaced by incessant sitcom-watching. May the attention of our young not be captured or corrupted by anything vulgar or offensive. Protect what we watch and wash it with Your Precious Blood. Our families should be spending time with You and with each other daily, rather than being cooped up in front of the TV. Give us the strong will and the grace for it, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You people who have requested our prayer support. The friend, the member of the family, the acquaintance, the colleague, the neighbour and the stranger – we bring them all to the foot of Your cross today, seeking that Your mighty Holy Spirit will touch them, heal their hearts and refresh their spirits. Answer their needs today, whatever they may be, Oh Jesus. May no prayer ever return unanswered. Bless them and their own. Thank You for giving us an opportunity to intercede for them. May we never be too busy. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You have given us so much, on Thanksgiving Day, today, we pray for the gift of gratitude. Thank You, Father, for having created us and given us families. Thank You for being with us in all our joys and sorrows, for Your comfort in our sadness, Your companionship in our loneliness. Lord Jesus, we pray that You preserve Your men and women in military service. We pray for truth, justice and human rights in the battle field. May our spouses, parents, brothers, sisters and friends who are risking their lives for our motherland, be blessed in a special way today. We pray for their spiritual walk, good health and longevity. May Your love sustain and encourage them through dark, anxious and lonely hours. We pray for the strengthening of their families and loved ones, facing daily challenges, while awaiting their return. Lord Jesus, today we bring to You the oldest members of our families and society. We pray that Your presence comforts them in their loneliness. Keep them focused on You, rather than on their aches and anxieties. We pray specially for those who are living alone. Watch over our parents and grandparents, Oh Jesus. May they have angels for their aid whenever they are alone. Help us too to serve them well, all their lives, without leaving that important responsibility to others. Amen.
