ക്രിസ്തുവിലാണ് നിത്യജീവന്‍ ഗുരോ നിത്യ ജീവന്‍ പ്രാപിക്കാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ എന്ത് ചെയ്യണം…സകല ബഹുമാനങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ യുവാവ് യെശുവിനോട് ചോദിച്ചു… യേശുവാകട്ടെ അവനെ സ്നേഹപൂര്‍വ്വം നോക്കി കല്പനകള്‍ അനുസരിക്കുവാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു…. അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു എന്റെ യവ്വനം മുതല്‍ ഞാന്‍ എല്ലാ കല്പ്പനകളും പാലിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്, പിന്നെ എന്താണ് എനിക്കൊരു കുറവ്. യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി പറയുന്ന ഉത്തരം ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്.. നിനക്ക് ഒരു കുറവുണ്ട്… പോവുക നിനക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം വില്‍ക്കുക, പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുക… നിത്യ ജീവന്‍ പ്രാപിക്കാന്‍ എന്ത് ചെയ്യണം എന്ന ചോദ്യത്തിന് യേശു നല്‍കുന്ന ഉത്തരമാണിത്.. സുവിശേഷ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ നിത്യജീവന്‍ കരസ്ഥമാക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവര്‍ യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിക്കണം.. കാരണം യേശുവാണ് നിത്യജീവന്‍. ഉള്ളതെല്ലമായി നമുക്ക് യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിക്കുവാന്‍ സാധ്യമല്ല… യേശുവിനെപ്രതി എല്ലാം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കാണ് നിത്യജീവന്‍ കരസ്ഥമാക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്നത്.. ആ യുവാവ് വലിയ വേദനയോടെ തിരിച്ചുപോയതായി നാം വായിക്കുന്നു… ഉള്ളവയെല്ലാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ പ്രതി നഷ്ടപെടുത്താന്‍ ആവാത്ത വേദന,.. ലൌകീക വസ്തുക്കളില്‍ സന്തോഷം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവന് യേശുവില്‍ സന്തോഷം...
