Today, we pray for workers

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those among us who work for a living. The ones who hold jobs in all walks of life – men and women, old and young, rich and poor. We pray that all of us give hundred percent to our jobs and treat those as an opportunity to bring people closer to You. May we glorify You, sweet Jesus, through our jobs. Bless our careers with Your anointing and favour. Amen.

Today, we pray for students who have begun their school year

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all the students in the world. Open their minds Lord, so they grasp whatever they read in their books and study. Bless their studies, teachers and friends. Give them humility and grace – so that they never let earthly knowledge get to their heads. A special prayers for children facing challenges as they begin this school year – fighting parents, broken homes, loneliness, illness, poverty or abuse. Amen

Today, we pray for families

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all the families in the world. Lord, the evil one is destroying families and close relationships. We pray that all families are protected and that strife is routed in Your mighty name. May members of families learn the importance of praying – together and for each other. And through the power of that prayer, may we always live in physical and emotional togetherness and love. Amen.

Heart prints

Whatever our hands touch- We leave fingerprints! On walls, on furniture On doorknobs, dishes, books. There’s no escape. As we touch we leave our identity. Oh God, wherever I go today Help me leave heartprints! Heartprints of compassion Of understanding and love. Heartprints of kindness And genuine concern. May my heart touch a lonely neighbor Or a runaway daughter Or an anxious mother Or perhaps an aged grandfather. Lord, send me out today To leave heartprints. And if someone should say “I felt your touch,” May that one sense YOUR LOVE Touching through ME.

Today, we pray for those labelled bad

Lord Jesus, You are all about love, mercy and justice. When the world brands a person as a black sheep, please hold his or her hand. The moment when one of us is labelled something evil, may Your angels rush to our aid. To lift us up and to give us grace and courage. May we able to bear the insults better, knowing that the world did the same to You years ago. May we not judge, lest we be judged ourselves. Heal all of us, Lord. Amen.
