today, we pray for the forgiveness of our sins

Lord Jesus, today – this Good Friday – we bring to your our sins that took You to the cross. The anger, the greed, the unforgiving nature, the arrogance, our harsh behaviour, bitter words, greed, neglect of the family, unwillingness to help our brethren, alcoholism, lying, cheating, gossip, abortion, wrong relationships, adultery and sexual sins, addictive sins and everything else that You alone are fully aware of. Lord, only Your Holy Spirit can heal us and make us new creations. We humbly kneel at the foot of Your rugged cross this day and plead Your blood of forgiveness over ourselves...

Today, we pray for a blessed Holy Week

Lord Jesus, today we thank You for Your immense love that took You to the cross and made You shed every last drop of Your blood for us. We pray that we honour Your love by keeping this week consecrated to You and holy. May we be broken completely and thus learn to love You and love our brethren – Your own – perfectly, today and for the rest of our lives. Amen.

Today, we pray for unknown angels in our lives

Lord Jesus, today we pray for those we bump into in our daily lives – people who we don’t know, but who are timely angels in disguise. The unknown faces – priests and prayer partners who have lifted us up, fellow travellers, shopkeepers, friends of friends and members of our families and communities we may have never met, but have helped improve our lives. Bless each one of them and their own mightily today, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Today, we pray for orphans

Lord Jesus, today we pray for those who live on this earth with no one to call their own. May Your love surround them and make them feel wanted, instead of rejected. Lord, bless the old and the young who long for a family. We pray that homes will be opened to young ones who are seeking adoptive parents. May all of us human beings truly become one family – with members accountable to and for one another. Amen.

Today, we pray for inner healing

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You our wounds. O God who healed the sick, the grieving, the wounded, have mercy on us all. May Your love that surpasses all human understanding fill us, cleanse us and strengthen us. Remove from each one of us any deep inner wounds which we got right from the time we were conceived, up to today. We pray that we can forgive and forget. Help heal the ones we have wounded too. Amen.
