Lord Jesus, on this day we pray for animals, birds and other living creatures that You created to give us joy. We pray that these are protected and not abused. Forgive us Lord for the way we have hurt the living things around the world. A special prayer for our pets, who bring us happiness. May us human beings learn to respect and love life – any creature that You created. Amen.
Lord Jesus, we surrender to You those of us who are brokenhearted right now. May we not hate You because of what people have done to us. Grief, illness, loneliness, death, illtreatment, abuse, crisis, lack of spiritual nurturing – all these have left us broken and bruised. Trusted people have added the most to our wounds. Only You can heal and repair our crushed spirits now, Jesus. We pray that Your Spirit will touch us and make us whole again. Let our lives become testimonies of Your love, once again. Amen.
Lord Jesus, today we pray for those who live on this earth with no one to call their own. May Your love surround them and make them feel wanted, instead of rejected. Lord, bless the old and the young who long for a family. We pray that homes will be opened to young ones who are seeking adoptive parents. May all of us truly become one family – with members accountable to and for one another. Amen.
Lord Jesus, today we bring to You every place on earth that is facing a natural calamity right now. Son of God who commanded the winds and the waves, please have mercy on our world. We specially pray for those affected right now by floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, heavy rains, intense temperature, power and water supply disruptions. A prayer of mercy for those who are travelling or stuck at strange places, unable to reach home and for their loved ones far away. Let Your protection keep us safe, Jesus. Amen.
Lord Jesus, we surrender to You each man, woman and child, who is facing death today. We pray that Your Spirit strengthens and calms them, when they enter the valley of death. May each one of them receive the grace to know Your presence, the comfort of Your angels and have a peaceful death. Give Your grace to those who are holding them and grieving, when they cross the barrier. May none of our dear ones die violent or untimely deaths and may we never have to face death in fear or in loneliness, without someone holding our hands. Amen.
