Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all Your children who are in the throes of grief. We pray for homes, individuals, communities struck by death, illness, crisis, catastrophes and failures. May Your Spirit pour balm over our souls. We need strength to recover from the shock, the intense pain and the lethargy. Only Your Holy Spirit can minister to us now. Lord Jesus, today we bring to You our disappointments with God, the Church and Christians. The many tears, the countless unanswered prayers, the rejection, the insults, the endless waiting for a miracle from heaven – we surrender them all to You, Lord; not with anger, but with true submission and humility. We identify ourselves with Your apostles and Mother Mary, who waited and mourned before that glorious resurrection Sunday. Lord Jesus, turn our worst disappointments into Your biggest miracles. Lord Jesus, human relationships form the soul of Your church on earth. We pray today that Your Holy Spirit will come into our hearts and help us build, not break – homes, churches, organisations, friendships and bonds within the family. Let us not sin by letting the devil destroy relationships with each other. Open our eyes that we may see – that loving our brethren comes right after loving You. Let Your healing love flow into every relationship in our lives. Amen.

Lord Jesus, today we pray for some of the ignored in our society – the widows, widowers, orphans and single parents. We pray that You will be the absent spouse, mother and father for them all. May Your love surround them when they are at their lowest. May Your Holy Spirit give them inner strength, courage and joy. May angels be at their service when they need them.
