Today, we pray for widows, orphans and single parent families

Lord Jesus, today we pray for some of the ignored in our society – the widows, widowers, orphans and single parents. We pray that You will be the absent spouse, mother and father for them all. May Your love surround them when they are at their lowest. May Your Holy Spirit give them inner strength, courage and joy. May angels be at their service when they need them. Bless the weakest mightily, Lord. Bring the right kind of friends and family into their lives. Forgive and heal the ones who reject them and cause them suffering. Amen.

Today, we pray for those being tested

Lord Jesus, our Saviour, we need You now as we are struggling in the crucible of suffering. Lord, touch and bless each of us who are being tested through loss, illness, family problems, bondages, calamities, crisis situations, financial crunch, stress or fear. We wash all these away by the power of Your precious blood. May Your love bring us healing and peace, plus assurance, right now. Amen.

The Ant and the Contact Lens

As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda’s eye and knocked out her contact lens. Well, here she is on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet Below her and hundreds of feet...

Today, we pray for a blessed Holy Week

Lord Jesus, today we thank You for Your immense love that took You to the cross and made You shed every last drop of Your blood for us. We pray that we honour Your love by keeping this week consecrated to You and holy. May we be broken completely and thus learn to love You and love Your own perfectly, today and for the rest of our lives. Amen.

You Are My Comfort

As I look out on to the ocean My heart basks in your devotion Your love and blessings are vast as the sea Dear Lord you do hear the plea Of the sorrowful, and the down trodden A repenting heart’s sins are long forgotten The raging sea can not sink the ship That’s held in your grip You are my anchor that holds As the bad times unfold My fountain of joy and peace Where life’s storms will cease. You walk on water, calm the sea with your hand Guide me as I go through this land.
