In today’s Scripture verse, King David is making a declaration that God’s gentleness has made him great. The Hebrew word for ‘great’ is pronounced ‘rabah’ and means to increase, excel, abundance, enlarge, etc. David acknowledged that it was the kindness and gentleness of God that was the reason for the expansion in his life which led to his greatness. Lord Jesus, we surrender to You those of us who are brokenhearted right now. Grief, rejection, insults, illness, loneliness, death, ill-treatment, abuse, crisis, lack of spiritual nurturing – all these have left us broken and bruised. Only You can heal and repair our crushed spirits now, Jesus. Lord, help us understand that broken people break others. Help us forgive the ones who break us and let us cut this chain reaction of pain. We pray that Your Spirit will touch us and make us whole. Let our lives become testimonies of Your love all over again. Amen.

யோவான் 17: 11 ”தூய தந்தையே, நான் ஒன்றாய் இருப்பது போல், அவர்களும் ஒன்றாய் இருக்கும்படி நீர் எனக்கு அளித்த உம் பெயரின் ஆற்றலால் அவர்களைக் காத்தருளும்” என்று, தன்னுடைய சீடர்களுக்காக மன்றாடுகிறார். கிறிஸ்தவர்களுக்கு இடையேயான ஒற்றுமையை, தந்தை-உறவு ஒற்றுமையோடு ஒப்பிடுகிறார். எவ்வாறு கிறிஸ்துவும் இறைத்தந்தையும் ஒரே மனநிலையோடு இருக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களைப் பிரிக்க முடியாதோ, அதேபோல கிறிஸ்தவர்களுக்கு இடையேயான மனநிலை இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று அவர் விரும்புகிறார். கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்வின் முக்கியமான நோக்கமாக இந்த ஒற்றுமையை இயேசு குறிப்பிடுகிறார். நாம் வாழக்கூடிய வாழ்வில் அனைவருக்குமே ஒரு நோக்கம் இருக்கிறது. நாம் செய்யக்கூடிய செயல்பாடுகளிலும் இந்த நோக்கம் காணப்படுகிறது. அதேபோல, கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு நடுவில் இந்த ஒற்றுமையோடு வாழ வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்தை உடையவர்களாக வாழ வேண்டும். எவ்வாறு தந்தையும், மகனும் ஒற்றுமையாக இருக்கிறார்களோ, அதே ஒற்றுமை கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்விலும் வெளிப்பட வேண்டும். அந்த ஒற்றுமைக்கு ஆணிவேராக இருப்பது நாம் வெளிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய அன்பு....

“The hand of the Lord was with them and a great number of them believed and were converted to the Lord.” –Acts 11:21 God’s hand makes it possible to convert great numbers of people. God’s hand holds and protects us. Because there can be no snatching out of His hand (Jn 10:28-29), we have perfect security in His love. Even death cannot snatch us from God’s hand, for the souls of the just who have died “are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them” (Wis 3:1).
