Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those among us who work for a living. The ones who hold jobs in all walks of life – men and women, old and young, rich and poor. We pray that all of us give hundred percent to our jobs and treat them as an opportunity to bring people close to You. May we glorify You, sweet Jesus, through our jobs and the work we do – at home and outside. Bless our chosen careers with Your anointing. Amen.
Success does not mean winning the battle, but winning the war – என்று பொதுவாகச் சொல்வார்கள். போர் என்பது பல நாட்களாக நடக்கக்கூடியது. அதிலே ஒருநாள் வெற்றிபெற்றால், எதிரியை விட சிறப்பாக செயல்பட்டால், அது உண்மையான வெற்றியல்ல. இறுதியாக யார் சிறப்பாகச் செயல்படுகிறார்களோ, எதிரியைத் தோற்கடிக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் தான் வெற்றியாளர்கள். ஒரு விஞ்ஞானி தன்னுடைய கண்டுபிடிப்பிற்காக பலநாட்கள் செலவழிக்கிறார். அதிலே தோல்வி மட்டும் தான் கிடைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. ஆனால், திடீரென்று, இத்தனை நாட்களாக தான், எதற்காக உழைத்தோமோ அதனை அவர் சாதிக்கிறபோது, வெற்றி பெற்றுவிடுகிறார். இதுதான் வெற்றி. இதனை மையப்படுத்தி தான், இன்றைய வாசகங்கள் அமைந்திருக்கிறது. இயேசுவின் வாழ்க்கை வெற்றியா? தோல்வியா? என்று யாரிடமாவது கேட்டால், அவரது இறப்பை வைத்து அதை தோல்வி என்று தான் சொல்வார்கள். அவர் அநீதியாக தீர்ப்பிடப்பட்டார் என்று தான் சொல்வார்கள். ஆனால், அது உண்மையல்ல. உயிர்ப்பு இயேசுவின் வெற்றியை எடுத்துச் சொல்கிறது....

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You our disappointments with God, the Church and especially fellow Christians. The many tears, the countless unanswered prayers, the endless waiting for a miracle from heaven, the abuse and rejection we suffer from others – we surrender them all to You, Lord; not with anger, but with true submission and humility. We identify ourselves with Your apostles and Mother Mary, who waited and mourned before that glorious Pentecost. Lord Jesus, turn our worst disappointments into Your biggest miracles. Amen.
