Today, we pray for people sinning against their bodies

Lord Jesus, You taught us about love. But to some, love is manifested as lust. We pray for our brothers and sisters living in the bondage of sexual sin, especially the ones who live it in secret and have no qualms about it. May they have the courage and integrity to recognise their folly and fight it, with Your grace. Pour forth Your Spirit on each one of us so that we may never fall into this evil. Protect our own and our children from being preys to this too. Amen.

அரச அலுவலர் இயேசுவிடம் வந்து தன் மகனை நலமாக்க வருமாறு அழைத்தபோது, இயேசு அவரிடம், “நீர் புறப்பட்டுப் போம். உம் மகன் பிழைத்துக்கொள்வான்” என்றார். அவரும் இயேசு சொன்ன வார்த்தையை நம்பிப் புறப்பட்டுப் போனார் என்று இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தில் வாசிக்கிறோம். அவருடைய நம்பிக்கை வீண் போகவில்லை. அவர் மகன் பிழைத்துக்கொண்டான். எனவே, அவரும் அவர் வீட்டாரும் இயேசுவை நம்பினர். இறைவனின் இயல்புகளுள் ஒன்று அவர் “வாக்கு மாறாதவர்” என்பது. எனவேதான், காலையில் அவரது பேரன்பையும், இரவில் அவரது வாக்குப் பிறழாமையையும் புகழ்வது நல்லது என்று திருப்பாடலில் (92) வாசிக்கிறோம். இறைவன் வாக்குப் பிறழாதவர், சொன்ன சொல் தவறாதவர். எனவே, நாமும் அவரது வார்த்தையை நம்பி வாழ்வோம். இறைவனின் வாக்கே விவிலியம். அந்நூலில் இறைவனின் வாக்குறுதிகளும், ஆறுதல் மொழிகளும், அறைகூவல் சொற்களும் அடங்கியுள்ளன. அவரது வார்த்தைகள் நிலைவாழ்வைத் தருகின்றன. எனவே, இறைவனின் வார்த்தையை நம்புவோம். அந்த வார்த்தைகளின்படி நம் வாழ்வை அமைத்துக்கொள்வோம்....

Today, we pray for those who are travelling

Lord Jesus, we pray for those among us who are travelling. We pray that You will keep each one of us safe and protected by Your constant care when we move from one place to another. Give us travelling mercies. Keep our loved ones who are on the move by air, road or water, safe from death, disease or catastrophes. May Your angels surround us now and forever – right from the time we step out to make our journey and to the time when we are back. Amen.
