“So He left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.” Matthew 26:44 Some Christians wonder why, if God is all-seeing and omniscient,, they still need to persevere in the discipline of prayer. They feel guilty about troubling God over and over with issues that He is already aware of. Remember, you often know about problems in people’s lives but you do not usually intervene unless asked to do so. If you feel that a particular matter in your life needs God’s intervention, do not hesitate to bring it before Him. Remind Him...

Lord Jesus, You taught us a valuable lesson about loving those who hate us. We now pray for each person whom we have harmed and who has harmed us in any way, especially the ones who have stabbed us behind our backs. Sweet Jesus, let Your healing and love flow. A special prayer for old friends who are enemies today and for members of the same family who harbour enmity. Let Your love and peace be established. May we, Your children, stop hurting each other through our thoughts, words and deeds. Heal strife and bless each one of our enemies...

இயேசு மக்களுக்கு அப்பங்களைப் பகிர்ந்து கொடுக்கிறார். இயேசுவின் புதுமை செய்யும் ஆற்றலைப்பார்த்த மக்கள், ”உலகிற்கு வரவிருநத உண்மையான இறைவாக்கினர் இவரே” என்று இயேசுவைப் புகழ்கிறரர்கள். எதற்காக இயேசுவை மக்கள் இறைவாக்கினராகப் பார்க்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள் என்பதற்கு இணைச்சட்ட நூல் ஓர் ஆதாரத்தைத் தருகிறது. ”உன் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் உன் சகோதரர் நடுவினின்று என்னைப்போல் ஓர் இறைவாக்கினரை ஏற்படுத்துவார். நீ அவருக்குச் செவிகொடு”(18: 15). இந்த இறைவார்த்தை இயேசுவில் உண்மையாவதை மக்கள் பார்க்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள். அந்த நேரத்தில் அவர்கள் இயேசுவை தாங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்த மெசியாவாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளத்தொடங்கினார்கள். ஆனால், சிலநாட்களில், அதே மக்கள், ”அவனைச்சிலுவையில் அறையும், சிலுவையில் அறையும்” என்று கத்தத்தொடங்கினார்கள். ஏன் மக்கள் மனதில் உடனடி மாற்றம்? அதற்கான காரணம் இதோ: இயேசு நோயுற்றவர்களைக் குணமாக்கியபோதும், முடவர்களை நடக்கச்செய்தபோதும், செவிடர்களைக் கேட்கச்செய்தபோதும், இயேசுவை மெசியாவாகத்தான் மக்கள் நினைத்தனர். ஆனால், தங்கள் விருப்பப்படிதான் இயேசு இருக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் , தங்களது எண்ணத்திற்கேற்ப இயேசு இருக்க...

“The apostles for their part left the Sanhedrin full of joy that they had been judged worthy of ill-treatment for the sake of the Name.” –Acts 5:41 Jesus “tested” his apostles (see e.g. Jn 6:6). His tests were designed to prepare them for future tests. They didn’t always pass these tests. The Jewish Sanhedrin also tested the apostles, very severely. The apostles passed the tests beautifully; they could not be defeated or suppressed. Scourging only caused the apostles to rejoice all the more, and persevere with even more joy.
