தேவையில் இருக்கிறவர்கள்

”சிறுபிள்ளைகளுள் ஒன்றை என் பெயரால் ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர், என்னையே ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்” என்று இயேசு சொல்கிறார். இதனுடைய பொருள் என்ன? இயேசு சிறுபிள்ளைகளை உவமையாக எதற்கு ஒப்பிடுகிறார்? எந்த பெற்றோரும், தனது பிள்ளைகளை சுமையாக நிச்சயம் கருதமாட்டார். அவர்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வது யாருக்கும் கடினமானது அல்ல. எனவே, குழந்தைகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதைப்பற்றி இயேசு இங்கே பேசவில்லை. குழந்தைகளை உவமையாகப் பயன்படுத்துகிறார். அப்படியென்றால், குழந்தைகளை, இயேசு யாருக்கு ஒப்பிடுகிறார்? இங்கே குழந்தைகள் என்று வருகிற வார்த்தையை, நாம் புரிந்து கொள்ளும் சிந்தனை, சிறுகுழந்தைகள் யாருக்கும் எதுவும் கொடுக்க முடியாது. அவர்கள் மற்றவர்களின் உதவியை எதிர்பார்த்து இருப்பார்கள். குழந்தைகளின் பெற்றோர், அவர்களுக்கு தேவையானவற்றை பார்த்து, பார்த்து செய்கிறார்கள். குழந்தைகள் மற்றவர்களின் உதவியில் தான், வாழ்கிறார்கள். அந்த குழந்தைகளை நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறோம். அவர்களை அன்பு செய்கிறோம். அது போலவே, தங்களது தேவைகளை நிறைவேற்றிக்கொள்ள முடியாத, ஏழை, எளியவர்களை, வறியவர்களை இயேசு குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஒப்பிடுகிறார்கள். அவர்களை நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள பணிக்கிறார். தேவையில் இருப்பவர்களை...

Today, we pray for those who insult us with their words

Lord Jesus, there is no one who uses the power of words to heal as much as You do. We pray for Christians who inflict deep wounds with their tongue, without a care for others’ feelings. We pray that the ones who are at the receiving end – can heal, forgive and forget too, by Your grace. May we too become the kind of people who are gentle and loving in our speech. Let the anger, unforgiving attitude and hatred melt away when we are touched by You daily. Heal our tongues, Lord Jesus. Amen.

விசுவாசத்தளர்ச்சியை அகற்றுவோம்

தீய ஆவி பிடித்திருந்த பையனுடைய தந்தை இயேசுவைத்தேடி நம்பிக்கையோடு வந்திருந்தார். ஆனால், இயேசு தன்னுடைய மூன்று சீடர்களோடு உயர்ந்த மலைக்குச்சென்றுவிட்டார். எனவே, அந்த தந்தை சீடர்களின் உதவியை நாடுகிறார். ஆனால், சீடர்களால் அந்த பையனுக்கு குணம் தரமுடியவில்லை. நம்பிக்கையோடு வந்திருந்த அந்த தந்தை நம்பிக்கை இழந்த நிலையில் இருக்கிறார். அந்த நம்பிக்கையின்மைதான் இயேசு அங்கே வந்தபொழுது, அவரின் வார்த்தைகளில் வெளிப்படுகிறது. எனவேதான், “உம்மால் ஏதாவது செய்ய இயலுமானால் எங்கள்மீது பரிவுகொண்டு எங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்யும்” என்று சொல்கிறார். இயேசுவால் நிச்சயம் முடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையோடு வந்தவர், நம்பிக்கையிழந்து வாடுகிறார். இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகள் அவருக்கு மீண்டும் நம்பிக்கையை தருகின்றன. ‘என்னுடைய ஆற்றலால் அல்ல, மாறாக உம்முடைய நம்பிக்கையினால்தான் எல்லாம் நிகழும்’ என்று நம்பிக்கையின் ஆழத்தை, அதன் மகத்துவத்தை அந்த தந்தைக்கு உணர்த்துகிறார் இயேசு. அவரின் நம்பிக்கை மீண்டும் வலுப்பெறுகிறது. தன்னுடைய தவறை உணர்ந்து, நம்பிக்கையின்மையை நீக்க மீண்டும் இயேசுவின் உதவியை நாடுகிறார். இயேசு...
