Today, we pray for our loved ones who have died

Lord Jesus, today we say a prayer for the souls and memories of our beloveds who are dead. Assure us that their souls are in Your light. Let every unfulfilled dream and ache of theirs be dealt with here on earth. Lord, hug and comfort all those who are grieving right now; the ones left behind. May they feel You, Your love. Let Your angels on earth fill the roles the dead cannot fill anymore. We pray that all will be well, until we meet again in Your presence. Amen.

இயேசு வாழ்ந்த காலத்தில், பாரம்பரிய யூதர்களுக்கு, கடவுளுக்கு பணிவிடை செய்வது என்பது, சட்டத்தை இம்மியளவு பிசகாமல் கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதாக இருந்தது. எந்த அளவுக்கு சட்டத்தைக் கடைப்பிடிக்கிறோமோ, அந்த அளவுக்கு கடவுளை நாம் போற்றுகிறோம் என்று நினைத்தார்கள். சிறிய சட்டங்களையும், வாழ்விற்கும், இறப்பிற்குமான வழிகள் என்று, பயபக்தியோடு வணங்கினார்கள். சட்டங்கள் நம்மை நெறிப்படுத்த உதவுகின்றன, என்பதில் எந்த சந்தேகமும் இல்லை. ஆனால், அது நாம் அடைய வேண்டிய இலக்காக இருக்க முடியாது. யூதர்களுக்கு சட்டத்தை திருப்தி செய்வதே நோக்கமும், ஆசையுமாக இருந்தது. அதை திருப்திபடுத்துவது நிச்சயம் முடியக்கூடியதாகத்தான் இருக்கும். ஆனால், இயேசு அன்பு செய்வதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்பட அழைப்புவிடுக்கிறார். அன்புதான் நாம் அடைய வேண்டிய இலக்கு, என்பதை தெளிவுபடுத்துகிறார். அன்பிற்கு எல்லை இருக்க முடியாது. யாரும் அன்பை கொடுத்துவிட்டேன், என்று திருப்திபட முடியாது. கொடுத்துக்கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும். அது ஒரு நீண்ட, முடிவில்லாத பயணம். அத்தகைய அன்பை நமது சட்டமாகக்கொண்டு...

“How long will you straddle the issue? If the Lord is God, follow Him; if Baal, follow him.” –1 Kings 18:21 The Lord died on the cross for love of us.
