இடையூறாக இருக்கும் எதுவும் களையப்பட வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால், அதுதான் நமது அழிவிற்கான முக்கிய காரணமாக விளங்குகிறது. நாம் அனைவருமே இப்படித்தான் நடக்க வேண்டும் என்று சட்டம் சொல்கிறது. அதன்படியே பெரும்பாலானோர் நடக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்படுகிறார்கள். முயற்சி எடுக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால், ஒருவர் அதற்கு மாறாக நடக்க ஆரம்பிக்கிறார். ஒட்டுமொத்த ஒழுங்குமுறையும் அங்கே அடிபட்டுக்கிடக்கிறது. இரயில் பயணச்சீட்டு எடுப்பதற்காக அனைவரும் வரிசையில் நிற்கிறார்கள். வரிசை நன்றாகப் போய்க்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. திடீரென ஒருவர் வந்து இடையில் புகுந்து குழப்பம் ஏற்படுத்துகிறார். ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக அந்த வரிசை ஒழுங்கற்றுப்போய்விடுகிறது. ஆக, இந்த ஒட்டுமொத்த குழப்பத்திற்கும் ஒரு மனிதர்தான் காரணமாக இருக்கிறார். அவர் அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டு தண்டிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். அப்போது, ஒழுங்குகள் ஒழுங்குகளாக மதிக்கப்படும். இப்படிப்பட்ட இடையூறு செய்கிறவர்களைத்தான் நற்செய்தி பேசுகிறது. அவர்கள் திருத்தப்பட வேண்டும். ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக அனைவரும் அதனால் சீரழிந்துபோவதைவிட, இடையூறு செய்கிறவர் தண்டிக்கப்படுவது அனைவருக்கும் நலமாக இருக்கும். நமது வாழ்வில் நாம் இடையூறு செய்கிறவர்களாக இருக்கிறோமா? மற்றவர்கள்...

“Why are you here, Elijah?” –1 Kings 19:9 The mighty prophet Elijah had more confidence in Queen Jezebel’s wicked fury than he did in his own strength. Jezebel had sworn to eliminate Elijah and sent assassins to hunt him down and kill him (1 Kgs 19:2-3). Elijah had stood as strong as a “wall of brass” against the whole nation (see Jer 1:18), but he was not able to stand up to one furious, powerful, vengeful woman. Elijah fled the country, walking over forty days to put as much distance as possible between him and Jezebel’s assassins (1 Kgs 19:8)....

Psalm 103:12 (WEB) As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Promise #160: I have removed your sins from you as far as the east is from the west. How far is the east from the west? Since these two anchors point in polar opposite directions for all eternity, I would say that there is no greater way to express the farthest distance than east from west. Lord Jesus, we plead for Your protection – from the wicked, evil, strife, bad habits and any vile attacks of Satan. Lord, we want to live glorifying Your name. Sometimes, we build up shackles which destroy instead of keeping us safe. Protect us in a very special way, Lord Jesus. Send Your angels to stand guard over us and our own. More than anything, keep us away from anything that blocks us away from loving You and loving our brethren like you want them loved. Amen.

தன் சகோதரரையோ, சகோதரியையோ ”அறிவிலியே” என்பவர் எரிநரகத்திற்கு ஆளாவார் என்று இயேசு இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் சொல்கிறார். எரிநரகம் என்பதன் பொருள் என்ன? யூதர்களுக்கு மத்தியில் இந்த வார்த்தை அதிகமாகப் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது. இது யெருசலேமின் தென்மேற்கில் இருக்கக்கூடிய, பென் இன்னோம் பள்ளத்தாக்கைக் குறிக்கிறது. இங்குதான் ஆகாஸ் மன்னன் பாகால் தெய்வங்களுக்கு வார்ப்புச்சிலைகளைச் செய்தான். இந்த பள்ளத்தாக்கில், அந்த தெய்வங்களுக்கு தூபம் காட்டினான். ஆண்டவர் முன்னிலையில் அருவருக்கத்தக்கவகையில், தனது புதல்வர்களையே தீயிலிட்டு எரித்தான். (2குறிப்பேடு 28: 1 – 4) ஆகாசிற்கு பிறகு வந்த, யோசியா அரசர் இதை அடியோடு அழித்தார். பாகால் தெய்வமான மோலேக்கு சிலைக்கு யாரும் தங்கள் புதல்வர்களை பலியிடாதவாறு, அதை அப்புறப்படுத்தினான். அனைத்தையும் தகர்த்தெறிந்தார். பீடங்களை உடைத்து, மனித எலும்புகளால் நிரப்பினார். இவ்வாறாக, அந்த இடமே மாசுபட்ட இடமாக, மனிதர்கள் வாழ்வதற்கே தகுதியற்ற இடமாக, அருவருக்கத்தக்க இடமாக மாற்றப்பட்டது.
