“God Himself is the Judge.” –Psalm 50:6 In all three eucharistic readings today, a type of courtroom scene is portrayed. The prophet Micah announces a cosmic court session. “The Lord has a plea against His people, and He enters into trial with” them (Mi 6:2). செபம் என்றால் “இதுதான்“ என்பதை நாம் அறுதியிட்டுக் கூற முடியாது. ஆனால், இதுதான் இன்றைக்கு திருச்சபையில் நாம் சந்திக்கக்கூடிய மிகப்பெரிய பிரச்சனையாகவும் இருக்கிறது. திருச்சபை என்பது பலதரப்பட்ட எண்ணங்களையும், சிந்தனைகளையும், இயல்புகளையும் கொண்ட மிகப்பெரிய அமைப்பு. ஒரு சிலர் இயல்பாகவே துடிப்பாக இருப்பர். சிலர் அமைதியான இயல்பைக் கொண்டவர்களாக இருப்பர். திருச்சபையின் வழிபாட்டு முறை அனைவருக்கும் ஏற்றதாக இருக்கும்படி நடக்கிறபோதுதான், அனைவருமே ஈடுபாட்டோடு பங்கு பெறுவதற்கு வசதியாக இருக்கும். ஒரு சிலர் ஆடிப்பாடி இறைவனைப் போற்ற விரும்பலாம். ஒரு சிலர் அமைதியாக இறைவனை மனதிற்குள் நினைத்து போற்றலாம். அவரவர் இயல்பிற்கேற்ப வழிபடுவதற்கு, அனைவருமே உதவியாக இருக்க வேண்டும். இதுதான் சிறந்தது, வழிபாடு இப்படித்தான் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நமது எண்ணங்களைப் புகுத்துகிறபோது, அங்கே இயல்பாக பிரச்சனை எழுகிறது. இன்றைய நற்செய்தியிலும் அதைத்தான் பார்க்கிறோம். மார்த்தாவின் உபசரிப்பு, விருந்தோம்பல் பற்றிய எண்ணம் வேறு. மரியாவின் உபசரிப்பு, விருந்தோம்பல் பற்றிய எண்ணம் வேறு. இரண்டுமே...

“பரிசேயரோ வெளியேறி இயேசுவை எப்படி ஒழிக்கலாம் என அவருக்கு எதிராகச் சூழ்ச்சி செய்தனர். இயேசு அதை அறிந்து அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்” என இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகம் தொடங்குகிறது. “கூக்குரலிட மாட்டார். தம் குரலைத் தெருவில் எழுப்பவுமாட்டார். நீதியை வெற்றிபெறச் செய்யும்வரை நெரிந்த நாணலை முறியார்” என்னும் எசாயா இறைவாக்கினரின் வாக்கு நிறைவேறியதாக வாசகம் முடிகிறது. ஒரு பக்கம் இயேசு பரிசேயரின் சூழ்ச்சியை அறிந்தவராய், அவ்விடத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுச் செல்கிறார். தம்மைக் குறித்து வெளிப்படையாகப் பேசவேண்டாம் என்று தாம் குணமாக்கியவர்களிடம் கண்டிப்பாகச் சொன்னார். ஆனால், அதே வேளையில் தமது குணமாக்கும், நற்செய்தி அறிவிக்கும் பணியையும் சென்றவிடமெல்லாம் தொடர்ந்து ஆற்றினார். இதையே நாம் அவரது மறைப்பணி உத்தி என்று அழைக்கலாம். பரிசேயர்களுக்கு அஞ்சி, தமது பணியை இயேசு கைவிட்டுவிடவில்லை. ஆனால், இயன்றவரையில் அவர்களிடம் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளாமல் தம்மைக் காத்துக்கொண்டார். தமது “நேரம் வரும்வரையில்” தாம் தொடர்ந்து பணியாற்ற வேண்டும், வீணாகச் சிக்கிக்கொண்டு, பணி செய்யும்...

“Woe to those who plan iniquity, and work out evil on their couches.” –Micah 2:1 At this moment, groups of intelligent and gifted people are meeting to “plan iniquity and work out evil.” International institutions and CEOs of mass media conglomerates are planning a “conspiracy against life.” Pope St. John Paul II called this an “objective” conspiracy.
