“His face changed in appearance.” –Luke 9:29 Isaiah prophesied of the Messiah, the Suffering Servant: “Even as many were amazed at Him – so marred was His look beyond that of man, and His appearance beyond that of mortals” (Is 52:14). அமைதி காப்போம்

இயேசுவின் உருமாற்ற நிகழ்வின் போது, இயேசுவுக்கு நெருங்கிய சீடர்கள் மூன்றுபேர் அவரோடு இருக்கிறார்கள். மோசே, எலியாவோடு, இயேசு நெருங்கியிருப்பதையும், மாட்சிமையோடு நிறைந்திருப்பதையும் பார்த்து, அவர்கள் அதிர்ச்சி கொள்கிறார்கள். அவர்களுக்குள் நிச்சயம் பல கேள்விகள் எழும்பியிருக்கும். இயேசு உண்மையில் யார்? தாங்கள் பார்ப்பது உண்மைதானா? அல்லது கனவா? ஏதோ காட்சி கண்டது போல இருக்கிறதே? இயேசுவோடு தோன்றிய மற்ற இரண்டு மனிதர்கள் யார்? இவைகள் தான், அவர்களது உள்ளத்திற்குள்ளாக எழுந்திருக்கலாம் என்று நாம் ஊகம் செய்யக்கூடிய கேள்விகள். நிகழ்வின் கடைசியில் சொல்லப்படுகிற “அமைதி காத்தார்கள்“ என்கிற வார்த்தைகள் நமது சிந்தனையைத் தூண்டுவதாக இருக்கிறது. எதற்காக அமைதி காத்தார்கள்? ஏன் மற்ற சீடர்களிடம் அவர்கள் சொல்லவில்லை? இந்த அமைதி எது வரை இருந்தது? சீடர்கள் நிச்சயம் பயத்தில் உறைந்திருப்பார்கள். இயேசுவை வெறும் போதகராக, மக்கள் விரும்பும் நல்ல மனிதராகப் பார்த்தவர்களுக்கு குழப்பம் தான் அதிகரித்திருக்குமே ஒழிய, தெளிவு கிடைத்திருக்காது. ஆனாலும், சீடர்கள் அமைதி காக்கிறார்கள்....

கடவுள் கொடுத்த இந்த அழகான வாழ்வை எப்படி வாழப்போகிறோம்? என்பதை நிர்ணயிக்கப் போவது நாம் தான். இந்த வாழ்வை எப்படியும் வாழ்வதற்கு, கடவுள் நமக்கு முழுச்சுதந்திரத்தைத் தந்திருக்கிறார். நம் முன்னால் இரண்டு வழிகள் இருக்கிறது என்று வைத்துக்கொள்வோம். இரண்டுமே, நாம் செல்ல வேண்டிய இலக்கை அடையக்கூடிய வழி என்றால், நாம் எதைத் தேர்ந்தெடுப்போம்? எது ஆபத்தில்லாத வழியோ, எது நமக்கு கஷ்டம் தராத வழியோ, அதைத்தான் தேர்ந்தெடுப்போம். ஒருவேளை, மற்றொரு வழி துன்பம் தருகிற வழி என்று நினைத்துக்கொள்வோம். அந்த துன்பம் தருகிற வழியில் நாம் ஒரு புதிய பாதையை உருவாக்கினால், அதனால், பல மக்கள் பயன்பெறுவார்கள் என்றால், நமது துன்பத்தைப் பார்ப்போமா? அல்லது, நமது துன்பத்தால் பயன்பெறக்கூடிய மக்களை நினைத்துப்பார்ப்போமா? இதில் தான், நாம் நமது வாழ்வை எப்படி வாழப்போகிறோம் என்பதன் இரகசியம் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது. இந்த உலகத்திலே எத்தனையோ கோடிக்கணக்கான மக்கள் வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் அனைவருமே நமது நினைவில் இருக்க...
