மத்தேயு 16:13-23 நமக்கு நாம் பெற்றிருக்கின்ற பெயர் மிகவும் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்தது. அந்த பெயரை மிகவும் சிறப்பாக மாற்ற வேண்டியது நம் ஒவ்வொருவரின் கடமை. நமது பெயர் புகழ்பெற்றதாய், பிரபலமானதாய் மாற வேண்டும். அதற்கான முயற்சிகள் எடுக்க வேண்டியது நம் தலையாய கடமை. இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தில் பேதுரு என்ற பெயரை ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உச்சரிக்கிறார். அதன் சிறப்புத்தன்மைகளை எடுத்துரைக்கிறார். பேதுரு என்றால் பாறை. யாரும் அசைக்க முடியாது. உறுதியானது திருச்சபை அதன் மேல் கட்டப்படும் பாதாளத்தின் வாயில்கள் அதன் மேல் வெற்றி கொள்ளா. விண்ணரசின் திறவுகோல்கள் தரப்படும். மண்ணுலகில் தடைசெய்வது விண்ணுலகில் தடைசெய்யப்படும். மண்ணுலகில் அனுமதிப்பது விண்ணுலகில் அனுமதிக்கப்படும் பேதுரு என்ற பெயரைப் பற்றி இயேசு பெருமையாக பேசுகிறார். அவரிடம் மிக உயரிய பொறுப்பினை வழங்குகின்றார். பலவீனங்கள் அவரிடம் இருந்தன. அவற்றையெல்லாம் அவர் உடைத்துப்போடடார். தன் பெயரை சிறப்பாக்கினார். பேதுருவின் கடின உழைப்பு, தாழ்ச்சி, பொறுமை, தியாகம் இவைகள்...

“At about three in the morning, [Jesus] came walking toward them on the lake.” –Matthew 14:25 When Jesus walked on the water, He showed that He had the authority and power to “quickly crush Satan” under His feet (Rm 16:20) and to heal all diseases (see Mt 14:36). Jesus walks not just on water but on tidal waves and tempests. Because “full authority has been given” to Jesus “both in heaven and on earth” (Mt 28:18), “He is always able to save those who approach God through Him” (Heb 7:25). Jesus is the “Pantocrator,” the all-powerful God (see Rv 1:8)....

மத்தேயு 15:21-28 கடவுள் நல்லவர். நம்பிக்கையோடு நாம் கேட்ட அனைத்தையும் நமக்கு தரக்கூடியவர். ஒருசில நேரங்களில் நாம் கேட்ட மன்றாடடுக்கள் அனைத்தும் மிக விரைவில் கிடைப்பதில்லை. சில நேரங்களில் நாம் காத்திருந்து தான் பெற வேண்டியிருக்கும். நம் அன்புக் கடவுள் நம்மை அதிகமாகவே அன்பு செய்கிறார். அவர் நமக்கு எதையும் தராமல் மறுப்பதில்லை. மாறாக வாரி வழங்கும் வள்ளல் அவர். ”பால்குடிக்கும் தன் மகவைத் தாய் மறப்பாளோ? கருத்தாங்கினவள் தன் பிள்ளைமீது இரக்கம் காட்டாதிருப்பாளோ? இவர்கள் மறந்திடினும், நான் உன்னை மறக்கவே மாட்டேன்” என்ற இந்த இறைவார்த்தைகள் அவரின் அதிகப்படியான அன்பை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகின்றன. இதை உணராமல் நாம் பல வேளைகளில் அவசரப்படுகிறோம். நான் கேட்ட வரத்தை கடவுள் இன்னும் தரவில்லையே என்று மிகவே அவசரப்படுகிறோம். அப்படி அவரசப்படும் நமக்கு இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகம் மிக மிக அவசியமான ஒன்றாக இருக்கிறது. கானானியப் பெண் பேய் பிடித்திருந்த தன் மகள் குணம் பெற...
