இயேசு, ”வானத்திலிருந்து சாத்தான் மின்னலைப்போல விழக்கண்டேன்” என்கிறார். இதனுடைய பொருள் என்ன? இதனை எப்படிப்புரிந்து கொள்வது? இயேசு எதற்காக இதைச்சொல்கிறார்? இயேசு தனது பணியின் பயிற்சியாக, எழுபத்திரண்டு சீடர்களை அனுப்புகிறார். அவர்கள் தங்களது பணியை முடித்தபின் இயேசுவிடம் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு தங்கள் அனுபவத்தைப்பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறார்கள். ”ஆண்டவரே, உமது பெயரைச் சொன்னால் பேய்கள்கூட எங்களுக்கு அடிபணிகின்றன” என்று பெருமை பொங்கச்சொல்கிறார்கள். இதனுடைய பிண்ணனியில்தான் இயேசு மேற்கண்ட வார்த்தைகளைச்சொல்கிறார். இதற்கு இரண்டுவிதத்திலே பொருள் கொடுக்கலாம். 1. இயேசு கொண்டு வர விரும்பிய இறையாட்சிக்கான அறிகுறிகள் தான் சாத்தான் தோற்கடிக்கப்படுவது. ஏனென்றால், இருளின் ஆட்சி முடிந்து, சாத்தான் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டு, கடவுளின் அரசு மலரத்தொடங்கிவிட்டதற்கான அருங்குறிகள் தான் சீடர்களின் வெற்றி. 2. இயேசு சீடர்களின் தற்பெருமைக்கு எதிராக கொடுக்கின்ற எச்சரிக்கையாகவும் இதை எடுக்கலாம். ஏனென்றால், சாத்தான்கள் தற்பெருமையினால் கடவுளுக்கெதிராக கிளர்ந்தெழுந்த வானதூதர்கள். அவர்கள் தற்பெருமையினால் கீழே விழுந்தார்கள். சீடர்களும் பெற்றிருக்கிற சிறிய வெற்றியை வைத்து தற்பெருமை அடைந்துவிடக்கூடாது, என்று...

இன்றைக்கு ஏராளமான புதுமைகளும், அற்புதங்களும் பல இடங்களில் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. திருப்பலியில் அப்பம், இயேசுவின் திரு உடலாக மாறக்கூடிய புதுமை, கன்னி மரியாளின் காட்சிகள், புனிதர்களின் பரிந்துரைகள் மூலமாக நோயாளிகள் குணமாகக்கூடிய புதுமைகள் என ஏராளமான புதுமைகள் நடந்தேறிக்கொண்டேயிருக்கிறது. இந்த புதுமைகளின் நோக்கம் என்ன? எதற்காக புதுமைகள் நடக்க வேண்டும்? இந்த கேள்விகளுக்கு விடையாக வருவது தான், இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகம். புதுமைகள் என்பது ஒருவரின் ஆற்றலை வெளிப்படத்தக்கூடியது அல்ல. மாறாக, கடவுளின் வல்லமை வெளிப்படக்கூடிய ஒரு நிகழ்வு. அந்த நிகழ்வு, கடவுள் பெரியவர் என்பதைக் காட்டுவதற்காக அல்ல. கடவுளின் இரக்கத்தை நாம் அதிகமாகப் புரிந்து கொள்வதற்காக. நமது வாழ்க்கை மாற்றம் பெறுவதற்காகத்தான் புதுமைகள் நடந்தேறுவதாக இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளிலிருந்து அறிய வருகிறோம். திருந்த மறுத்த நகரங்களில் இயேசு பல புதுமைகளைச் செய்திருக்கிறார். அந்த புதுமைகள் கடவுளின் இரக்கத்தைக் குறித்துக்காட்டுவதற்காக செய்யப்பட்ட புதுமைகள். மக்கள் கடவுளை கண்டுகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக நிகழ்த்தப்பட்ட புதுமைகள்....
