நிலையான வாழ்வை உரிமையாக்கிக் கொள்ள நான் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும்? என்பது தான் இயேசுவிடம் கேட்கப்பட்ட கேள்வி. இயேசு அதற்கு எளிதான பதிலைத் தருகிறார். திருச்சட்டத்தில் என்ன சொல்லியிருக்கிறதோ, அதனைச் செய், நீ நிலையான வாழ்வை பெற்றுக்கொள்வாய் என்று சொல்கிறார். இந்த உலகத்தில் இருக்கிற எல்லா மக்களின் நோக்கமும், குறிக்கோளும் நிலையான வாழ்வை அடைவதுதான் அதனை அடைவதற்காகத்தான் நாம் பல வழிகளில் முயன்று கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். அதைத்தான், திருச்சட்ட அறிஞரின் கேள்வியும் நமக்கு எடுத்துரைக்கிறது. இந்த கேள்வியை திருச்சட்ட அறிஞர் எதற்காக கேட்டார்? அவர் இந்த கேள்வியை கேட்கலாமா? ஏனென்றால், அவர் கடவுளின் சட்டத்தை அல்லும் பகலும் தியானிக்கக்கூடியவர். அதனை மக்களுக்குப் போதிக்கக்கூடியவர். இப்படி கடவுளின் வார்த்தையைப் போதிக்கக்கூடிய திருச்சட்ட அறிஞரே, நிலைவாழ்விற்கான வழியைத் தெரியாமல் இருந்தால், அவர் எப்படி மக்களுக்குப் போதிக்க முடியும்? இன்றைக்கு போதனை என்பது அடுத்தவர்க்கு மட்டும் தான், எனக்கு இல்லை என்கிற மனநிலையை இது எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது. இன்றைய...

“Increase our faith.” –Luke 17:5 When Habakkuk prayed, he cried out, “Violence!” (Hab 1:2) He described his situation as “ruin,” “misery,” “destruction,” “strife,” and “clamorous discord” (Hab 1:3). நம்பிக்கை என்பது ஒரே சமதளத்தில் இருக்கக்கூடியது அல்ல. சில வேளைகளில் மிகுந்த நம்பிக்கை உணர்வு நம்மிடம் மேலோங்கியிருக்கும். பல நேரங்களில் நாம் நம்பிக்கை உணர்வு அற்றவர்களாக இருப்போம். அப்படிப்பட்ட மனநிலையைத்தான் சீடர்கள் தங்களது வார்த்தையில் பிரதிபலிக்கிறார்கள். நிச்சயமாக, இது குற்ற உணர்வில் வெளிப்படுகின்ற வார்த்தைகள். தங்களுடைய போதகரிடத்தில் உண்மையாக இல்லாத ஒரு நிலையில் வெளிப்படுகின்ற வார்த்தைகள். சாதாரண மனிதர்களின் நம்பிக்கை வாழ்வில் இருக்கக்கூடிய ஏற்றத்தாழ்வுகளை, உணர்வுப்பூர்வமாக வெளிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய வார்த்தைகள். சீடர்கள் தங்களின் நம்பிக்கை உணர்வை அதிகப்படுத்தும்படியாக இயேசுவிடத்தில் கேட்கிறார்கள். ஒன்று மட்டும், சீடர்களின் வார்த்தையில் தெளிவாக இருக்கிறது. தங்களிடம் நம்பிக்கை குறைவு என்பதை, ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள். அந்த நம்பிக்கைக் குறைவை இயேசு ஒருவரால் தான், சரிப்படுத்த முடியும் என்பதிலும் அவர்கள் தெளிவாக இருக்கிறார்கள். இன்றைக்கு நம்பிக்கையை அதிகப்படுத்துவது, கடவுளின் வல்லமையால் மட்டும் தான் முடியும் என்பதை, இந்த நற்செய்தி நமக்குக் கற்றுத்தருகிறது. நமது வாழ்வில், நமது நம்பிக்கை இறக்கம் காண்கிறபோதெல்லாம், நாம் கடவுளின்...
