இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் எருசலேம் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த நகரமாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. அது தான் கடவுள் வாழும் இல்லமாகவும், இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களின் அடையாளமாகவும் காணப்படுகிறது. எருசலேம் என்று சொல்கிறபோதும், சீயோன் என்று சொல்கிறபோதும், அவை இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களைக்குறிக்கக்கூடிய வார்த்தைகளாகவே நாம் பார்க்க வேண்டும். சீயோன் என்பது மலைத்தொடர். இதன் அருகில் தான் எருசலேம் இருக்கிறது. எனவே, இரண்டு வார்த்தைகளும் ஒரே பொருளைத்தான் குறிப்பதாக இருக்கிறது. 2குறிப்பேடு 6: 6 சொல்கிறது: ”எனது பெயர் விளங்கும் இடமாக எருசலேமைத் தேர்ந்து கொண்டேன் என்று ஆண்டவர் கூறுகிறார்”. எருசலேம் என்பது கடவுளின் இல்லம். அது கடவுளால் ஆளப்படுகிற இடம். கடவுள் தன்னுடைய முழுமையான பிரசன்னத்தையும் வெளிப்படுத்துகிற இடம். அந்த இடம் எதிரிகளால் தாக்கப்படவோ, தகர்க்கப்படவோ முடியாத இடமாகக் கருதப்பட்டது. அது கடவுளால் நிர்வகிக்கப்படும் கோட்டை. எனவே, அங்கு வாழக்கூடிய மக்களால் தான், கடவுளின் வல்ல செயல்களை முழுமையாக அனுபவித்திருக்க முடியும். அவர்களால் தான், கடவுளின் மாபெரும்...

“பிறர் உங்களைவிட மதிப்புக்குரியவர் என எண்ணுங்கள்” (உரோ 12: 10). திருமுழுக்கு யோவானிடமிருந்து இன்று நாம் கற்றுக்கொள்ளும் உளவியல் மற்றும் ஆன்மீகப் பாடம் இதுதான். பிறரை நம்மைவிட மேலானவராகவும், மதிப்புக்குரியவராகவும் உண்மையிலேயே எண்ணுதல், சொல்லுதல், செயல்படுதல். இந்தக் கடினமாக மதிப்பீட்டை திருமுழுக்கு யோவான் எளிதில் செயல்படுத்திக் காட்டினார். “இதோ, கடவுளின் செம்மறி. இவரே உலகின் பாவத்தைப் போக்குபவர். எனக்குப் பின்வரும் இவர் என்னைவிட முன்னிடம் பெற்றவர்” எனச் சான்று பகர்ந்தார். நாம் எப்படி? நம்மோடு பணியாற்றபவர்கள், அல்லது நமக்குப் பின் நமது பணியைத் தொடர்பவர்கள் (ளரஉஉநளளழசள) – இவர்கள் பற்றி நமது மனநிலை என்ன? நமது சொற்கள் என்ன? நமது சான்று என்ன? யோவானைப் போல நம்மாலும் பிறரைப் பாராட்டீ. சான்று பகர முடியுமா? இன்று இந்தப் பயிற்சியைச் செய்வோமா? இன்று நமது கண்ணில் காணும் அனைவரையும் “இவர் என்னைவிட மதிப்புக்குரியவர்” என மனதிற்குள் சொல்வோம். வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தால், வாயாலும் அறிக்கையிடுவோம்....
