இயேசு கடவுளின் நற்செய்தியை உலகெங்கும் எடுத்துச்செல்ல திருத்தூதர்களை தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறார். இயேசுவின் இந்த செயல், விசுவாசம் என்பது போற்றிப்பாதுகாக்க வேண்டியது மட்டுமல்ல, அது பறைசாற்றப்பட வேண்டியது என்பதைத் தெளிவுபடுத்துகிறது. கத்தோலிக்க திரு அவை இரண்டாயிரம் வருடத்திற்கும் மேலான பாரம்பரியத்தைகொண்டு இருக்கிறது. இந்த இரண்டாயிரம் வருட பாரம்பரியத்தின் வெற்றி, ஒவ்வொரு தலைமுறையினரின் அர்ப்பணத்திலே இருந்திருக்கிறது. அன்றைக்கு சீடர்களிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக்கொண்ட விசுவாசத்தை அர்ப்பண உணர்வோடு தலைமுறையினர் தோறும் அடுத்த தலைமுறையினர்க்கு மிகுந்த பாதுகாப்போடு, மகிச்சியோடு, தியாக உள்ளத்தோடு பரிமாறியிருக்கிறார்கள். இதற்காக அவர்கள் சந்தித்த துன்பங்கள், துயரங்கள், கொடுமைகள் எண்ணிலடங்காதவை. ஆனாலும், தாங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட அந்த மாட்சிமையை, உண்மையை மற்றவர்களும் அனுபவிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக தாங்கள் சந்தித்த இன்னல்களை பொறுமையோடு ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள். இதற்கு சிறந்த உதாரணம் திருத்தூதர்கள். திருத்தூதர்கள் அனைவரும் இயேசுவுக்காக சிந்திய இரத்தம் அதற்கு சாட்சி. இன்றைக்கும் நாம் பெற்றிருக்கிற இந்த பாரம்பரியமான விசுவாசத்தை சிதைக்காமல் எந்தச்சேதாரமும் இல்லாமல் அடுத்த தலைமுறையினருக்குக் கொடுக்கக்கூடிய மிகப்பெரிய பொறுப்பு...

தீய ஆவிகள் இயேசுவைக்கண்டதும், ”இறைமகன் நீரே” என்று கத்தியதாக நற்செய்தி கூறுகிறது. ”இறைமகன்” என்ற வார்த்தையின் பொருளை இங்கு நாம் பார்ப்போம். இறைமகன் என்கிற வார்த்தை, மத்திய கிழக்கு பகுதிகளில் வாழ்ந்த மக்களால், அடிக்கடி பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட வார்த்தை. எகிப்து தேசத்தின் அரசர்கள் ”இறைமகன்” என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டனர். அகுஸ்துஸ் சீசர் முதல் ஒவ்வொரு உரோமை அரசர்களும் ”இறைமகன்” என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டனர். பழைய ஏற்பாட்டில் நான்கு வழிகளில் இந்த வார்த்தை பயன்படுகிறது. 1. வானதூதர்கள் கடவுளின் மகன்களாக சித்தரிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். தொடக்க நூல் 6: 2 ல் ”மனிதரின் புதல்வியர் அழகாக இருப்பதைத் தெய்வப்புதல்வர் கண்டு…. ” என்று பார்க்கிறோம். 2. இஸ்ரயேல் நாடு கடவுளின் மகனாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. ஓசேயா 11: 1 ”எகிப்திலிருந்து என் மகனை அழைத்து வந்தேன்”. இங்கே இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் எகிப்தில் அடிமைகளாக இருந்ததும், அவர்களைக் கடவுள் அழைத்து வந்ததும் தெரியப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. 3. ஒரு நாட்டின் அரசர், கடவுளின் மகனாக பார்க்கப்படுகிறார்....
