மகிழ்ச்சியும், அன்பும்

எதை விதைக்கிறோமோ, அதையே அறுவடை செய்கிறோம், என்ற சொல்லாடல் நம் மத்தியில் பேசப்படுவதுண்டு. செயல்பாட்டை விட, அடுத்தவா் செய்கிறவற்றைப்பற்றிப் பேசுவதே நம்மில் அதிகமாகக் காணப்படுகிறது. இன்றைய உலகின் பிரச்சனைகளுக்கு அதிகமாகச் சொல்லப்படுவது, மற்றவர்களைப்பற்றிய தேவையில்லாத பேச்சு. வீண் விமர்சனங்களும், அடுத்தவரைப்பற்றிய தரக்குறைவான எண்ணங்களும் தான், நமது வாழ்வை சீர்குலைக்கக்கூடியவையாக, நம்மை கடவுள் முன்னிலையில் குற்றவாளியாக மாற்றக்கூடியவையாக இருக்கிறது. இன்றைய நற்செய்தியும் இதைத்தான் வலியுறுத்திக்கூறுகிறது. நாம் அனைவரும் நம்மையும், நமது வாழ்வையும் விமர்சனத்துக்கு உள்ளாக்க வேண்டுமேயன்றி, மற்றவர்களை விமர்சனத்திற்கு உள்ளாக்கக்கூடாது. கடவுள் கொடுத்த இந்த வாழ்வை எப்படி வாழ வேண்டும்? என்பதைத்ப்பற்றித்தான் கவலைப்பட வேண்டுமே தவிர, மற்றவர்களை விமர்சனத்திற்கு உள்ளாக்க வேண்டும் என்பது, நமது எண்ணமாக இருக்கக்கூடாது. அடுத்தவர்களை ஏளனமாகப்பார்ப்பதும், தங்களை உயர்வாகவும் எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்த காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த இயேசுவின் போதனை, நமக்கும் மிகப்பெரிய சாட்டையடி. நாமும் இதே மனநிலையுடன்தான் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். பிறரை அன்பு செய்வதும், அவர்களுக்கு நம்மால் இயன்ற உதவி செய்வதும்...

KNOW JESUS – NO FEAR

“Do not fear.” –Matthew 10:28 Jesus gives us at least four commandments in today’s Gospel reading: “Do not let them intimidate you” (Mt 10:26). “Do not fear those who deprive the body of life but cannot destroy the soul” (Mt 10:28). “Do not be afraid of anything” (Mt 10:31). “Fear Him Who can destroy both body and soul in Gehenna” (Mt 10:28). உமது பேரன்பினால் எனக்கு பதில் மொழி தாரும்

கடவுளின் மீது ஆழ்ந்த பற்றுறுதி கொண்ட ஒரு மனிதனின் ஏக்கத்தின் வெளிப்பாடு தான் இன்றைய திருப்பாடல். கடவுள் மீது பலரும் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறோம். அந்த நம்பிக்கை சிலருக்கு மேலோட்டமானதாக இருக்கிறது. ஒரு சிலருக்கு அது அதிக ஈடுபாடு கொண்டதாக இருக்கிறது. கடவுள் மீது தான் கொண்ட நம்பிக்கையின் வெளிப்பாட்டி காரணமாக, தன்னுடைய வாழ்வில் சந்தித்த மோசமான தருணங்களையெல்லாம் கடவுளிடம் சொல்லி, தன்னுடை ஏக்கத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார். இறைவனைக் கேள்வி கேட்பது தவறான ஒன்று. ஏனென்றால், அவர் நம்மைப் படைத்தவர். நமக்கென்று ஒரு சில வரைமுறை இருக்கிறது. ஒரு தந்தையிடம் கேள்வி கேட்க பிள்ளைகளுக்கு உரிமை இருக்கிறது. அதேவேளையில் அதற்கு ஓர் எல்லையும் இருக்கிறது. அந்த எல்லையை தான் மீறிவிடக்கூடாது, கடவுளின் கோபத்திற்கு ஆளாகி விடக்கூடாது என்கிற ஏக்கப்பெருமூச்சை வெளிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய பாடலாகவும் இது அமைந்துள்ளது. கடவுள் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைத்து, வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிற மனிதர்கள் தங்களது வாழ்வில் சந்திக்கிற சோதனைகள் நிச்சயம் அதிகமாகத்தான் இருக்கும்....

HALFWAY TO JESUS’ BIRTHDAY

“Look for the One Who comes after me. I am not worthy to unfasten the sandals on His feet.” –Acts 13:25 We celebrate the birthday of St. John the Baptizer for the same reason we celebrate the birthday of Mary.
