வேறுபாடுகள் நம்மை வளப்படுத்தட்டும்

ஒரு மிகச்சிறந்த தலைவர் என்பவர் மக்களை வழிநடத்துவதற்கு முன்னால், தனக்குரியவர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து தன்னோடு கூட வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும். போதனைகள் தலைவரோடு முடிந்து விடக்கூடாது. தொடரப்பட வேண்டும். இயேசு தனக்குப்பிறகும் தனது பணி தொடர வேண்டும் என நினைக்கிறார். அது வெறும் பெயரை நிலைநாட்டுவதற்கானது அல்ல. மாறாக, மக்கள் மீட்பு பெற வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக. மீட்புப்பணி தொடர்ந்தாற்றப்பட வேண்டும் என விரும்புகிறார். எனவே தனக்கான சீடர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறார். இயேசு தனது சீடர்களாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தது சாதாரணமானவர்களையும், வேறுபட்ட எண்ணம் உள்ளவர்களையும் என்கிற உண்மை பலரையும் வியக்க வைக்கலாம். இந்த சாதாரணமானவர்களால் கருத்து வேறுபாடு உள்ளவர்களால் என்ன செய்து விட முடியும், என்ற எண்ணமும் உள்ளத்தில் எழும். இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவருமே, வித்தியாசமான குணம்கொண்டவர்கள். ஒருவரின் இயல்பு மற்றவரின் இயல்புக்கு எதிரான பண்பு கொண்டதாக இருந்தது. உதாரணமாக, மத்தேயு வரிதண்டுபவர். நாட்டை உரோமையர்களுக்கு விற்றுவிட்டு, சுயநலத்திற்காக அவர்களோடு உறவாடுகிறவர்கள் என்று யூத சமுதாயத்தினால் முத்திரைக்குத்தப்பட்டவர். அதேபோல்,...

நேர்மையில் நிலைத்திருந்து ஆண்டவரின் முகம் காண்பேன்

தன்னுடைய எதிரிகளின் சூழ்ச்சிகளாலும், தொடர் தேடுதல் வேட்டையினாலும் பெருத்த மன உளைச்சலுக்கும், விரக்திக்கும் ஆளாகியிருக்கிறார் தாவீது மன்னர். எங்கே தப்பிச்சென்றாலும், நிழல் போல தன்னுடைய எதிரிகள் தன்னை பின்தொடர்வதைக் கண்டு, மனம் வெதும்புகிறார். வேதனையின் உச்சத்திற்கே செல்கிறார். சாதாரண மனிதனாக, தன்னால் வாழ முடியவில்லையே என்று வேதனைப்படுகிறார். விரக்தியின் விளிம்பில் அவர் கடவுளை நோக்கி கூக்குரலிடுகிறார். இறைவனுடைய பாதுகாப்பிற்காகவும், புகலிடத்திற்காகவும் வேண்டப்படுகின்ற பாடலாக (திருப்பாடல் 17: 1, 2 – 3, 6 – 7, 8, 15) இது அமைந்திருக்கிறது. கடவுளிடம் தன்னுடை விண்ணப்பத்தை எடுத்துரைக்கிறபோது, தன்னுடைய நேர்மைத்தனத்தை அவர் விவரிக்கிறார். இவ்வளவு சூழ்ச்சிகள், வேதனை, நெருக்கடி, துன்பங்களுக்கு நடுவிலும், தான் கொண்டிருக்கிற நேர்மைத்தனத்தில் நிலைத்திருக்கும்படியாக ஆண்டவரிடத்தில் மன்றாடுகிறார். நேர்மையாக வாழ்ந்ததற்கு பரிசு கிடைக்கவில்லையே என்று தாவீது மனம் வெதும்பவில்லை. அழுது புலம்பவில்லை. இறைவனிடத்தில் முறையிடவில்லை. மாறாக, தன்னுடை நேர்தை்தனத்தில் தொடர்ந்து வளர, உறுதியாக இருக்க வேண்டுகிறார். தன்னுடைய எதிரிகளிடமிருந்து...
