எண் 72 என்பது யூதர்களுக்கு ஓர் அடையாள எண். மூப்பர்கள் 72 பேரை இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்கு அதிகாரிகளாக, பெரியவர்களாக ஏற்படுத்துகிறார். எண்ணிக்கை 11: 16 ”ஆண்டவர் மோசேயிடம் சொன்னது: எழுபதுபேரை என்னிடம் கூட்டிவா. அவர்கள் மக்களுள் உனக்குத் தெரிந்தவர்களாகவும், பெரியோர்களாகவும் அதிகாரிகளாகவும் இருக்குமாறு பார்த்துக்கொள்”. யூதத்தலைமைச்சங்கத்திலும் 72 உறுப்பினர் இருந்தார்கள். உலகத்தில் இருக்கிற மொத்தநாடுகளின் எண்ணிக்கையும் 72 இருப்பதாக யூதர்கள் நம்பினர். லூக்கா நற்செய்தியாளர் இயேசுவை அனைவருக்கும் பொதுவானவராக, மீட்பராக அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதால், இந்த எண்ணைப்பயன்படுத்துகிறார். இயேசுவின் இந்தப்போதனை போதிக்கக்கூடியவர்களுக்கான ஒழுங்குகளைத்தருகிறது. போதிக்கக்கூடியவர்கள் பொருட்களைச் சேர்த்து வைக்க ஆசைப்படக்கூடாது. அவர்களுக்கு கடவுள் தான் சொத்து. அதேபோல போகிற வழியில் யாருக்கும் வணக்கம் செலுத்த வேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லப்படுவத, தங்களுடைய இலக்கிலிருந்து அவர்கள் விலக அது காரணமாகிவிடக்கூடாது என்பதற்காக. கிறிஸ்துவை நோக்கிச்செல்கின்ற நம்மிலிருந்து நாம் எந்த காரணத்தைக்கொண்டும் விலகக்கூடாது. நமது எண்ணங்கள், சிந்தனைகள், நாம் பயன்படுத்தும் வார்த்தைகள் அனைத்துமே கிறிஸ்துவை மையப்படுத்துவதாக இருக்க வேண்டும்....
