2தீமோத்தேயு 1: 1 – 3, 6 – 12 ”இயேசு அருளும் வாக்குறுதிக்கு ஏற்ப, அவருடைய திருத்தூதனான பவுல்” என்று, பவுல் தன்னுடைய திருமுகத்தைத் தொடங்குகிறார். இங்கு வாக்குறுதி என்கிற வார்த்தை நம்முடைய கவனத்தை ஈர்ப்பதாக இருக்கிறது. இயேசு அருளும் வாக்குறுதி என்று பவுல் எதனைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்? வழக்கமான பவுலின் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து, இந்த கடிதம் சற்று மாறுபட்ட தொனியில், அதிலும் குறிப்பாக, இந்த வார்த்தையை பவுல் பயன்படுத்தியிருப்பதன் நோக்கம் புரிவதற்கு சற்று கடினமாகத்தான் இருக்கிறது. ஏனென்றால், விவிலியத்தில் அதற்கான விளக்கங்கள் இடம்பெறவில்லை. இதனுடைய பொருள் என்ன, என்பதை சற்று ஆழமாகச் சிந்தித்துப் பார்ப்போம். உரோமை நகரில் பவுல் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்ட இடம் என்று காட்டப்படுகிற இடத்தை நாம் பார்த்தோம் என்றால், பவுல் சொல்ல வருகிற அர்த்தத்தை ஓரளவு நம்மால் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும். அவர் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்ட இடம், குகை போன்ற பாதாள அறை. அந்த அறை முழுவதுமே கற்களால்...
