A SURE FOUNDATION

“Everyone, however, must be careful how he builds.” –1 Corinthians 3:10 As of 324 A.D., the Lateran Basilica in Rome is the Pope’s own Cathedral Church. This basilica is the mother church of the entire Christian world. Yet today’s Mass readings don’t simply talk of stone and mortar; they also talk about the Church not made by human hands, the temple of Jesus’ Body (Jn 2:21). Each day, this temple, the Church, is being built upon the sure foundation, Jesus the Christ (1 Cor 3:10-11), and the Rock of St. Peter upon which Christ has built His Church (Mt 16:16-18)....

யோவான் 2:13-22 இறையேசுவில் இனியவா்களே! நம்பிக்கையோடும் ஆர்வத்தோடும் திருப்பலிக்கு வந்திருக்கின்ற உங்கள் அனைவரையும் அன்போடு வரவேற்கின்றேன். இந்த நாள் உங்களுக்கு இனிய நாளாக இருக்கவும், நீங்கள் நல்ல உடல்நலத்துடன் வாழவும், உங்கள் வாழ்க்கை ஆசீர்வாதமாக அமையவும் உங்களை வாழ்த்துகிறேன். ஆண்டவரிடம் மன்றாடுகிறேன். இலாத்தரன் பேராலய நேர்ந்தளிப்பு திருவிழா திருப்பலி நம்மை கடவுளுக்கு நேர்ந்தளிக்க அழைப்பு கொடுக்கிறது. நாம் அனைவரும் கடவுளுக்கே சொந்தம் என்பதை ஆலயத்தில் அறிக்கையிட வேண்டும். உரக்க அதை வெளியிட வேண்டும். அதற்கான வாய்ப்பாக இந்த நாளை பயன்படுத்துவோம். இன்று ஆலயம் வந்திருக்கின்ற நாம் அதை முழு ஆர்வத்தோடும் ஆசையோடும் செய்வோம். அதுதான் இந்த திருவிழாவின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகும். கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்களை ஆலயத்தில் நேர்ந்தளிக்க வேண்டும். அப்படி ஆலயத்திற்கு நம்மை நேர்ந்தளிக்கும் போது இரண்டு விதங்களில் நாம் பயன் பெறுகிறோம். 1. பாதுகாப்பு பெறும் வளையம் உருவாகிறது நாம் ஆண்டவருக்கு ஆலயத்தில் வைத்து நம்மை நேர்ந்தளிக்கும் போது பாதுகாப்பு...

கடவுளே! நீரே என் இறைவன்

”கடவுளே! நீரே என் இறைவன்” கடவுள் மீது தன்னுடைய நம்பிக்கையை, உறுதிப்பாட்டை ஆழமாக வெளிப்படுத்துகிற ஒரு பாடல் இந்த திருப்பாடல். எத்தனை தெய்வங்கள் இருந்தாலும், யாவே ஆண்டவர் ஒருவர் தான், தன்னுடைய தலைவர் என்கிற நம்பிக்கையை அறிக்கையிடும் பாடலாகவும் இது அமைகிறது. பொதுவாக, கடவுள் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிற மனிதர்களுக்கு பலவிதமான சோதனைகள் வருவதுண்டு. துன்ப காலத்தில் மற்றவர்கள், கடவுள் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களைப் பார்த்து கூறுவது, ”இந்த கடவுளை நம்பினாயே! நீ அடைந்த பலன் என்ன? துன்பங்கள் தான் உனக்கு மிஞ்சுகிறது. பேசாமல் அவரை விட்டுவிட்டு விலகிவிடு”. நெருக்கடியான நேரத்தில் இப்படி சொல்கிறவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துக்கொண்டே செல்கிறது. கடவுள் மீது நம்பிக்கை இருந்தாலும், மற்றவர்களின் தொடர் விமர்சனங்களுக்கு ஆளாகிற பலர், ”ஏன் நமக்கு வீண் பிடிவாதம்?” என்று, வெகு எளிதாக, கடவுளை விட்டுவிடுகிறார்கள். இந்த நெருக்கடியான நேரத்தில் தன்னுடைய விசுவாசத்தை அறிக்கையிடும் திருப்பாடல் ஆசிரியர், கடவுள் மீது தனக்குள்ள ஆழமான நம்பிக்கையை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார்....
