திருப்பாடல் 116: 1 – 2, 3 – 4, 5 – 6, 8 – 9 ஆண்டவர் இரக்கமுள்ளவர். எவ்வளவு பெரிய தவறு செய்தாலும், உண்மையான மனமாற்றத்தோடு திரும்பி வந்தால், நிச்சயம் கடவுள் நம்மை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார் என்பதை, அனுபவப்பூர்வமாக வெளிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய ஒரு பாடல் தான் இந்த திருப்பாடல். இறைவனிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கை உணர்வோடு நாம் மன்றாடுகிறபோது, இறைவனின் அருளும், ஆசீரும் நமக்கு நிறைவாகக் கிடைக்கும் என்பதை, இந்த திருப்பாடல் நமக்கு வெளிக்காட்டுவதாக அமைகிறது. துன்பத்திலும், துயரத்திலும், குற்ற உணர்ச்சியிலும் சாவை எதிர்நோக்கியிருக்கிற மனிதன் என்ன செய்வதென்று தெரியாமல் திணறிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறான். சாவை எதிர்கொள்ளவும் பயந்து குழப்பமான நிலையில் புலம்பிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான். இப்படிப்பட்ட சூழ்நிலையில், அவன் கடவுளைத் தேடுகிறான். அவனிடத்தில் இப்போது இருப்பது தான் செய்த தவறுகளுக்காக மனம் வருந்திய நிலை. ஆனால், அவன் ஆச்சரியப்படக்கூடிய அளவுக்கு கடவுள் அவனை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார். அவனுக்கு தன்னுடை மன்னிப்பை வழங்கி, அவனுக்கு பிரச்சனைகளிலிருந்து விடுதலை கொடுக்கிறார்....

திருப்பாடல் 34: 6 – 7, 9 – 10, 11 – 12 ஏழைகள் சபிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் என்று எண்ணப்பட்ட காலத்தில், கடவுள் ஏழைகளுக்கு செவிசாய்க்க மாட்டார் என்கிற சிந்தனை மக்கள் மனதில் நிலவிக்கொண்டிருந்த காலகட்டம் அது. இப்படிப்பட்ட எண்ணம் கொண்ட சமுதாயத்தில், ஏழையின் மன்றாட்டு ஆண்டவர் செவிசாய்த்தார் என்பது, ஒரு ஆச்சரியமான செய்தியாக இருக்கிறது. ஆனால், அதுதான் உண்மை என்பதை இந்த திருப்பாடல் நமக்கு மிக தெளிவாக எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது. ஏழைக்கு ஏன் ஆண்டவர் செவிசாய்த்தார்? கடவுள் முன்னிலையில் ஏழை, பணக்காரர் என்கிற பாகுபாடு உண்டா? என்கிற கேள்விகள் நம் முன்னால் எழுகிறது. கடவுள் முன்னிலையில் எப்போதுமே ஏழை என்றோ, பணக்காரர் என்றோ பிரிவினை கிடையாது. கடவுள் முன்னிலையில், பொருளாதாரம் சார்ந்த வேறுபாடு கிடையாது. கடவுள் பொருளாதார அடிப்படையில் தீர்ப்பிடுவதும் கிடையாது. அப்படியென்றால், கடவுள் வழங்கும் தீர்ப்பின் அளவுகோல் என்ன? அதுதான் ஆண்டவர்க்கு அஞ்சி வாழ்வது. ஆண்டவருக்கு அஞ்சி வாழக்கூடிய எல்லாருமே...
