WITNESS STAND

“This stone shall be our witness.” –Joshua 24:27 One of the most important words in the Bible is “witness.” Joshua said to the people: “You are your own witnesses that you have chosen to serve the Lord” (Jos 24:22). ஆண்டவர்தாமே என் உரிமைச் சொத்து

திருப்பாடல் 16: 1 – 2&5, 7 – 8, 11 உரிமைச்சொத்து என்கிற வார்த்தையின் பொருள் என்ன? எண்ணிக்கை 18: 20 சொல்கிறது: ”இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களிடையே உனக்கு பங்கும், உரிமைச் சொத்தும் நானே”. இந்த வார்த்தைகளை ஆரோனுக்கு ஆண்டவர் சொல்கிறார். ஆரோன் ஆண்டவரால், இறைப்பணிக்காக அர்ப்பணம் செய்யப்பட்டவர். ஆரோனின் வழிவரக்கூடிய குருக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் முன்னோடி ஆரோன். உரிமைச் சொத்து என்பது நமக்கு கிடைக்க வேண்டிய பங்கு. ஒரு குடும்பத்தில் நான்கு சகோதரர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். தந்தையின் சொத்தில் நான்கு பேருக்குமே பங்கிருக்கிறது. தந்தை விரும்புகிறாரோ இல்லையோ, சட்டத்தின்படி, தந்தையின் சொத்தில், மகனுக்கு பங்கு இருக்கிறது. அதில் ஒரு சில உள்விவகாரங்கள் இருந்தாலும், பொதுவான எண்ணம்: தந்தையின் சொத்தில் மகனுக்கு பங்கு உண்டு என்பதுதான். இங்கு ஆரோனுக்கு, கடவுள் உரிமைச்சொத்தாக கொடுக்கப்படுவது என்பது, இறைவனின் பணியாளர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கப்படக்கூடிய மிகப்பெரிய விலைமதிப்பில்லாத பரிசு. இந்த உலகத்தையே கொடுத்தாலும் பெற முடியாத பொக்கிஷம். கடவுளின் பணியாளர்...

ONE FLESH, INDIVISIBLE

“A man shall leave his father and mother and cling to his wife, and the two shall become as one.” –Matthew 19:5 This “is the case between man and wife” (Mt 19:10): A husband loves his wife sacrificially, as Jesus loves us (Eph 5:25). திருப்பாடல் 136: 1 – 3, 16 – 18, 21 – 22&24 நன்றி என்கிற மூன்றெழுத்து வார்த்தை, நம்முடைய மூச்சோடு கலந்துவிட்ட வார்த்தை. நமக்கு நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களை உள்ளன்போடு நினைத்துப்பார்ப்பது நம்முடைய கடமை. ஒருவர் நன்மை செய்கிறபோது அல்லது நமக்கு உதவி செய்கிறபோது, நன்றி என்ற வார்த்தையை உதிர்க்கிறோம். நன்றி என்ற வார்த்தை பொதுவாக உச்சரிக்கப்பட்டாலும், அது உதட்டளவில் உச்சரிக்கப்படுகிற வார்த்தையாகவும், உள்ளத்தளவில் உச்சரிக்கப்படுகிற வார்த்தையாகவும் உணரப்படுகிறது. நன்றி என்ற வார்த்தை எப்போது உச்சரிக்கப்பட்டாலும் அது உணர்வுப்பூர்வமாகவும், உதட்டளவிலும் அமைந்துவிடாமல், உள்ளத்திலிருந்து எழுவதாக அமைய வேண்டும். அதுதான் இன்றைய திருப்பாடல் நமக்கு தருகிற செய்தி. நன்றி என்பது மூன்றாவது நபருக்கு வார்த்தையால் சொல்லிவிடுகிறோம். நம்மைப் பெற்றெடுத்து, நம்மை பேணிவளர்த்த நம்முடைய அன்புப்பெற்றோருக்கு நாம் எப்போதும் நன்றி என்று சொல்வதில்லை. அப்படிச்சொல்லப்படுகிற வார்த்தையை எவரும் விரும்புவதும் இல்லை. காரணம், அது நம்முடைய நெருங்கிய உறவுகளிடமிருந்து நம்மை அந்நியப்படுத்திவிடுகிறது. அப்படியென்றால், நம்முடைய...
