Today, we pray for family or friends
Heavenly Father, I would be thankful for the blessings I am inclined to forget. Give me a heart of gratitude, and forbid that I should hold my friends for material gain or selfish ends. May I through the truthfulness of my lips, and the honor of my acts, be a necessary friend. Amen.

The Wisdom of Children You can’t fool the kids in Sunday school, they are way too smart… “If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale, and gave all my money to the church, would I get into heaven?” I asked the children in my Sunday school class. “NO!” all the children answered. “If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and kept everything neat and tidy, would I get into heaven?” Again the answer was “NO!” “Well,” I continued,”then how can I get to heaven?” A five-year-old boy shouted,”You gotta be dead!”

Today, we pray for leaders
Lord Jesus, on this day we bring to You the heads of our churches, countries, organisations and homes. We pray that they are fine men and women who always listen to their conscience and have the guts to obey it, whatever may be the price. May Your Holy Spirit be with them every step of the way, building groups and people, not breaking them. Bring Your qualities of mercy, justice and honesty into their daily lifestyles. Strengthen those of us who are called to be leaders. Amen.
