யோவான் 4: 43-54 இன்றைய நற்செய்தி நம்மை இறையன்பில் குறிப்பாக அவர் மீது நாம் கொண்டுள்ள இறை நம்பிக்கையே நமக்கு வாழ்வளிக்கும் என்பதை நமக்க வலியுறுத்துகிறது. அரச அலுவலன் இவன் ஏரோது மன்னன் அரண்மனையில் பெரிய பதவியில் இருந்தவன். பல மைல் தூரம் கடந்து இயேசுவினைச் சந்தித்து உயிர்ப்பிச்சைக் கேட்பது அவனின் தாழ்ச்சி என்ற புண்ணியத்தை எடுத்துரைக்கிறது. ஆனால் நமது அன்றாட வாழ்க்கைச் சூழல்களில் சிறு பதவிகளும், பொறுப்புகளும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டாலே நாம் ஆடுகிற ஆட்டம் அனைவரையும் ஆட்டிவிடுகிறது. மனிதர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்லஇ இறைவனுக்கு அடிபணிய மறந்து விடுகிறோம். பதவியை விடுங்கள். இன்று கைநிறைய சம்பாதித்தாலே நான் ஏன் திருப்பலியில் கலந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்ற மனநிலையில் இருப்பவர்கள் மிக அதிகம். பொருளாதாரம் உயர உயர கடவுளுக்கும் மனிதனுக்குமான தூரம் அதிகரிக்கின்றது. மேலும் குணம் தேடி வந்தவரை ஏமாற்றக் கூடிய நிலையில் இயேசுவின் பதில் கூறுகின்றது. இயேசுவின் எரிச்சல் மிகுந்த தொனி அவரை, மனம்,...

மனமாற்றம்

உண்மையான மனமாற்றம் என்றால் என்ன? மனமாற்றம் எப்படி இருக்க வேண்டும்? என்பதற்கு இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் வரும், இளைய மகன் சிறந்த எடுத்துக்காட்டாக இருக்கிறான். மனமாற்றம் என்பது, ஒருவரின் வாழ்க்கையையே புரட்டிப்போடுகிற அனுபவம். இறந்து, மீண்டும் உயிர்த்த அனுபவம். வாழ்க்கை முடிந்து விட்டது, என்ற நம்பிக்கையிழந்த சூழலில், மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை வாழ்வதற்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற வாய்ப்பு. தவறுகள் கொடுத்த பாடங்களை அனுபவமாக ஏற்று, சிறப்பாக வாழ வேண்டும் என துடிக்கும் ஒரு வேட்கை. அது தான் உண்மையான மனமாற்றம். தன்னை மகனாக ஏற்க வேண்டும் என்று, அவன் நினைக்கவில்லை. தன்னுடைய தந்தையின் பணியாட்களுள் ஒருவனாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டாலே போதும், என்பதுதான் அவனின் எண்ணம். தன்னுடைய தகுதியின்மையை, இளைய மகன் உணர்கிறான். தந்தை அவனை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று அவன் ஒருபோதும் எண்ணவில்லை. தான் செய்தது தவறு. அதற்கு விமோசனமே கிடையாது என்பதுதான், இளைய மகனின் மனநிலை. அந்த மனநிலையோடு தான் அவன் தந்தையிடம் திரும்பி வருகிறான்....

MISPLACED CONFIDENCE

“What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah?” –Hosea 6:4 The Israelite worshippers sang a hymn which expressed their confidence that God would respond favorably to their offerings and sacrifices: “He will heal us…He will bind our wounds…He will raise us up, to live in His presence…as certain as the dawn is His coming” (Hos 6:1-3).
