Lord Jesus, today we bring to You those are strangers to us – the people who we bump into during our daily walk. The men, women and children we do not know, but who are all opportunities You provide – for us to share Your love. A special prayers for dear ones who have now become like strangers to us – estranged from us and our families. May each person we meet see Christ in us. “I too will ask a question.” –Matthew 21:24 Sometimes we pray and talk to God, even questioning Him, but He doesn’t seem to answer. We wonder if He’s even listening. One reason for this is mentioned in today’s Gospel reading. The chief priests and elders asked Jesus two questions (Mt 21:23). Lord Jesus, today we bring to You all the families in the world. Lord, the evil one is destroying families and close relationships. We pray that families are protected and that strife is routed in Your mighty name. May the members of families learn the importance of praying – together and for each other. And through the power of that prayer, may we always live in physical and emotional togetherness and love. Amen.

“I rejoice heartily in the Lord, in my God is the joy of my soul.” –Isaiah 61:10 “Rejoice in the Lord always! I say it again. Rejoice!” (Phil 4:4) Today is “Gaudete Sunday,” that is, “Rejoice Sunday.” We are rejoicing because soon and very soon Christ will come in glory this Christmas. We are able to “rejoice always” (1 Thes 5:16) despite the many sorrowful circumstances of our lives.
