After meeting the risen Jesus several times, Simon Peter then decided to return to his pre-Jesus career of commercial fishing (Jn 21:3), in effect denying Jesus’ call to be a fisher of men (Lk 5:10). Lord Jesus, we surrender to you all the people who use their tongues to speak lies and cause discord. Lord, when gossip is being formulated and used, be the unbreakable shield who we rely on. We especially pray for those who tell tales and cause deep rifts; for everyone who meddles into our lives or has gossiped about us. A prayer for the society, community and family that we live in. Bless us all, Lord Jesus. Amen.

கர்த்தருக்குள் அன்பான சகோதரர், சகோதரிகளுக்கு நம்முடைய ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் இனிய நாமத்தில் அன்பின் நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள். ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழ்ந்த காலத்தில் இரவு தனித்திருந்து தமது பிதாவை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்கிறார். பகல் முழுதும் ஒவ்வொரு ஊராகச் சென்று மக்களை சந்தித்து ஆறுதல் அளித்து அவர்கள் நோய்களை சுகமாக்கி, பிசாசுகளை துரத்தி ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனின் தேவைகளையும் நிறைவேற்றினார் என்று வாசிக்கிறோம். நாமும் அவர் காட்டிய வழியில் நடப்போம். வெறுமனே ஜெபம் செய்வதை மட்டும் செய்யாமல் அவர்களின் தேவைகளை அறிந்து நம்மால் இயன்ற வரை உதவிக்கரம் நீட்டுவோம். ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே என்று சொல்பவர் எல்லாம் விண்ணரசுக்குள் செல்வதில்லை. மாறாக விண்ணுலகிலுள்ள என் தந்தையின் திருவுளப்படி செயல்படுபவரே செல்வர். அந்நாளில் பலர் என்னை நோக்கி ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே உமது பெயரால் நாங்கள் இறைவாக்கு உரைக்கவில்லையா? உமது பெயரால் நாங்கள் பேய்களை ஓட்டவில்லையா, உமது பெயரால் வல்ல செயல்கள் பல செய்யவில்லையா என்பர். அதற்கு நான் அவர்களிடம் உங்களை எனக்கு தெரியவே,தெரியாது. நெறிகேடாகச் செயல்படுபவரே, என்னை விட்டு எல்லாரும் அகன்று...

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You our disappointments with God, the Church and especially fellow Christians. The many tears, the countless unanswered prayers, the endless waiting for a miracle from heaven, the abuse we suffer from others – we surrender them all to You, Lord; not with anger, but with true submission and humility. We identify ourselves with Your apostles and Mother Mary, who waited and mourned before that glorious Pentecost. Lord Jesus, turn our worst disappointments into Your biggest miracles. Amen.
