CUT THE LORD A BREAK

“He prunes away every barren branch, but the fruitful ones He trims clean to increase their yield.” –John 15:2 A glance at Scripture paints a picture of the Lord as a rather inconsistent Farmer. First, He goes crazy with the pruning shears, snipping off everything in sight, both fruitful and barren branches (Jn 15:2). In the next scene, the Lord cuts nothing at all. He refuses to cut weeds which threaten the fruitfulness of the adjoining wheat (Mt 13:30). Today, we pray for the silent helpers of Your ministry

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You, Your silent supporters earth. Lord, bless and honour those who clean the pews, decorate the halls for worship, do secretarial work, wash the toilets and do odd jobs behind the scenes – the sound technicians, the volunteer staff, the drivers, the launderers, the babysitters and all those who faithfully and quietly support ministries with their time and money, for Your glory. A prayer for their families too. May their rewards come from You. And frequently remind each of us that each role comes from You, so respect all jobs, all brethren. Amen.

கடவுளுக்கு உகந்த வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்வோம்

கர்த்தருக்குள் அன்பான சகோதர,சகோதரிகளுக்கு நம் தேவனாகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் இனிய நாமத்தில் அன்பின் நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள். இயேசுகிறிஸ்து நேற்றும் இன்றும் என்றுமே மாறாதவர் என்று எபிரேயர் 13:8 ல் வாசிக்கிறோம். நம்முடைய ஆண்டவர் ஒருநாளும் மாறாதவராய் இருக்க அவர் சாயலாய் படைக்கப்பட்ட நாமும் அவ்வாறே இருந்து அவருக்கு உகந்த வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்ந்து அவரின் நாமத்திற்கு மகிமை உண்டு பண்ணுவோம். ஆண்டவரின் கட்டளைக்கு கீழ்படிந்து சகோதர அன்பிலே நிலைத்திருந்து அன்னியரை வரவேற்று விருந்தோம்பல் செய்தோமானால் நாம் நம்மை அறியாமலே வானத்தூதர்களை மகிழ்ச்சி படுத்தியவர்களாய் இருப்போம். சிறைப்பட்டவர்களோடு நாமும் சிறைப்பட்டவர்களாய் எண்ணி அவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் அளிப்போம்.துன்புறுத்தப்படுகிறவர்களை மறவாமல் அவர்களுக்கு நம்மால் இயன்ற உதவிகளை செய்யவேண்டும். பொருளாசையை விலக்கி நமக்கு உள்ளதே போதும் என்று நினைப்போம். ஏனெனில் நம் ஆண்டவர் நான் ஒருபோதும் உன்னைக் கைவிட மாட்டேன்! உன்னை விட்டு விலகவும் மாட்டேன் என்று நமக்கு வாக்கு அருளியிருக்கிறார். ஆதலால் நாம் துணிவோடு ஆண்டவரே எனக்கு துணை, நான் அஞ்ச மாட்டேன்: மனிதர் எனக்கு எதிராக என்ன செய்ய முடியும் என்று தைரியமாக இருக்கலாம். நமக்கு...

PERSEVERANCE IN PAIN

“They gave their disciples reassurances, and encouraged them to persevere in the faith.” –Acts 14:22 After being beaten unconscious, dragged out of the town of Lystra, and left for dead, St. Paul regained consciousness and went back into Lystra (Acts 14:19-20). Paul was fearless, unstoppable, and persevering. After leaving Lystra, he soon returned to reassure the disciples and encourage “them to persevere in the faith” (Acts 14:22). Lord Jesus, today we pray for those who are longing for a job. We pray that these brothers and sisters will have the grace to pray and seek Your will when they apply for jobs. May they never lose hope when a rejection comes. May they have the will and the grace from You to try and try again without giving up. Amen.
