திருத்தூதர் பணி 18: 23 – 28 அப்போல்லா என்ற பெயருடைய யூதர் ஒருவரைப் பற்றிய செய்தி இன்றைய முதல் வாசகத்தில் நமக்குத் தரப்படுகிறது. அவர் சொல்வன்மை மிக்கவர் என்றும், மறைநூல்களில் புலமை வாய்ந்தவர் என்றும், அவருக்கு அடைமொழிகள் தரப்படுகிறது. இவற்றிற்கும் மேலான ஒரு பண்பும் அவருக்குத் தரப்படுகிறது. அதுதான் அவருடைய பணிவாழ்க்கையில், மிகச்சிறந்த பண்பாக இருக்க முடியும் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். அவர் ஆர்வமிக்க உள்ளம் கொண்டிருந்தார். ”ஆர்வமிக்க உள்ளத்தோடு இயேசுவைப் பற்றிய செய்தியைப்பிழையற அறிவித்தும் கற்பித்தும் வந்தார். இறைவனுடைய பணியைச் செய்வதற்கு நமக்கு முதலாவதாக ஆர்வம் இருக்க வேண்டும். எந்த ஒரு செயலையும் இரண்டு விதத்தில் நாம் செய்ய முடியும். ஏனோதானோவென்று வெறும் கடமைக்காக செய்வது முதல் வகை. செய்வதில் நிறைவோடு, ஆர்வத்தோடு செய்வது இரண்டாவது வகை. அப்போல்லோ இரண்டாவது வகையான மனிதராக இருக்கிறார். அந்த ஆர்வம் பல உதவி செய்யக்கூடிய நண்பர்களையும், கேட்கிறவர்களை கிறிஸ்துவின்பால் ஈர்க்கக்கூடியதாகவும் இருக்கிறது. திருப்பாடல்...
